Well, two at least but i don't think all three, surprised we haven't gone in for Schar, disappointed too.
According to reports, it would take 8m (not sure if Euro's or pounds) for Schar, Feyenoord accepted 9m Euro's for Clasie (7.2m) and Depay is apparently available for 15m Euro's (12m), so roughly 27.2m and Southampton apparently want 27m for MS.

I cant see Schar going for so little, anywhere near £10m and we should be all over it.

I would have said the same about Clasie going for 7.2 (would have though closer to 15m) but Feyenoord have accepted a bid from Porto but Claise isn't sure if he wants to go.

I think we over inflate expected fees as we are used to EPL prices.

Wow, i haven't seen the Clasie news, surprised LVG isn't all over it, or Martinez/Rodgers.

I do sometimes wish we'd take the Porto approach to transfers - minus the third party issues.

But it is the 3rd party aspect (as well as Portugal not requiring Work Permits for South Americans) that enables them to have that approach.

Yea appreciate the contradiction and however we view of those deals, it works bloody well for Porto.

It will be interesting to see how Porto fair when/if FIFA outlaw 3rd party ownership. I imagine they will have a back up plan by now.

Clasie and Depay would be fantastic business.

I just view Clasie as a great alternative to Schneiderlin with the potential to surpass him (a little over a year and a half younger than Schneiderlin). He fits the role perfectly with his ability to move the ball quickly and accurately and he also gives us a through ball passer which I think we miss a ton of times.

I'd sell Dembele/Sandro and a guy like Lennon to make the deals happen.

Are we in for Clasie now?

Just like FFP, clubs will circumvent rules to ensure the status quo.

That being said, I've always maintained the blueprint for us is to model a great deal on clubs like Porto and Dortmund, within reason.
