Is it me, or did David clearly say 'one-club' loyalty? ie. Bale and Modric came from other clubs to Spurs, so they obviously don't have any 'one-club' loyalty. Do you know what that means?

Didn't Dawson and Kaboul also come from other clubs, too?

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to mean?

Until (and if) Musacchio signs, I'd imagine the club and the players are in no rush to sell/move.

Assuming he does sign, it'll be pretty obvious to both players that they're 5 and 6 in the pecking order and moving on will be in everyone's interests. At least one of them won't even be named in the 25.
Come end of August, things will happen.

Seeing a pattern here - last year, Dawson told he's not wanted, ends up playing plenty, as captain. This year, kaboul being told he has to go, ends up as captain...

This is Goal.com as well, in case no-one noticed, right up there with clubcall.

We offer a player a contract, we have to be prepared when they actually want to honour that contract and stay, not lay into them - they are showing loyalty to our club, a desire to make our team a bigger success and be part of it, yet the rapidly growing dumbass section of those who claim to support us, or the modern fan as I prefer to call them, are whining about it.

Get a grip and if any of you, and I mean ANY of you dare to even make a fucking peep the next time a player tries to force a move away with years left on their contract then you can eat my arse - my entire arse.

If only these guys had influence on Bale and Modric, huh? But if they want to stay, I'm fine keeping them. I like both of them

I agree with the vast majority of this....but Greg Stobart IIRC has a source at board level, so id give this story a bit more credibility than a lot of tat in the red tops.

You're right! ISTR Andy Reid went to Forest too, after Daws came to Spurs in 2005. Yeah, I don't know what I was on about either...

I'd assume no decent offers have arrived. They'll both be on hefty salaries which won't be matched in all likelihood. They are also both comfortable at Spurs. Kaboul's injury history will cast a big shadow over any move. I think the 'refusing to move' tag is probably rubbish and expecting them to simply bog off 'for the good of the club' is naïve in the extreme.
I think you missed the IF offers came in for them bit in my post

Oh you didn't miss that bit (I didn't expand the text) - my bad.
Basically if they get decent offers (and Daws has been offered around, even Kaboul had a French club (can't remember their name) interested in him - then yeah - they should move on - but as many say - who would take a personal pay cut and a move just to benefit Spurs? Very few, if any.
My point is simply IF we can move them on - and replace with better - than I'd welcome that big time.

If the club really needs the squad position freed up, they can subsidize those it wants to move a la Ade's case when we got him. We can't simply push a player out to take a pay cut after we've signed a contract with him.

We could try to push - it just wouldn´t be very nice... We signed them and gave them contracts. If we don´t need/want them anymore, it´s up to us to make them see the benefits of leaving (stick/carrot approaches).

This loyalty thing is overblown. If fans think a player is not up to it, there is no end of abuse. And as for the players, they have seens many fall by the wayside.

Many here praise Dawson for his loyalty and he is a nice person and all, but with all respect, he is at the best possible club (in terms of money and current prestige) that his ability allows. He will never be chased by Bayern München, Barcelona og Paris St Germain.

Plus Kaboul would get a better deal with a club next year being a free agent (one for Arry lol)
