Supporters plan to hold a one-minute silence outside the hospital at 14:00 local time (13:00 GMT).

Am I the only one who thinks this is over the top?

No, I agree with you......
A minute's silence?!?
He's not even dead. What they going to do if he does die?! A one hour silence????

It is tragic and a reminder of how things can change so dramatically in an instant, but even so......

The odd thing is, this is the only time I've ever actually wanted him to win!

I agree with you, always respected him but he was a bit like United, he was so good and won so much that it was uncool to cheer him on. Im certainly cheering him on now, hope this turns out a happier story than most.

I didn't like him first time around because he was a sneaky bastard who would do anything to win (like another current world champion who isn't much liked at the minute) but I actually didn't mind him at all when he came back to F1, and wanted to see him get a podium that time. How things can change when you're not dominating like before.

That said, I hope the fella makes a full recovery.

Steve Davis syndrome

Hated him when he was dominant, liked him when he was average

Potentially good news:

Official update from Michael Schumacher’s manager:

Michael’s sedation is being reduced in order to allow the start of the waking up process which may take long time. For the protection of the family, it was originally agreed by the interested parties to communicate this information only once this process was consolidated. Please note that no further updates will be given.

F1 legend Michael Schumacher has left hospital after the skiing accident that nearly killed him, and is no longer in a coma, his family says

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-27868787

no more details at the moment and I would imagine it will be a while before we are informed of any permanent injury/brain damage etc. But this is excellent news for the family that they have at least got him home.

That is good news. Pleased for him and his family.

If he's out of a coma he's probably already just about well enough to drive a white van.

I wonder if the doctors dressed up in shiny silver one pieces and pretended it was 2189?

Such good news, but it's going to be a long haul for rehabilitation and I doubt he'll ever be anything like the way he was before the accident.
