Cant see the point of Vorm myself. Surely no way he going to 'compete with Loris to be first choice keeper', and Brad still does just fine in cup games.

Hugo Lloris has been backed to be Tottenham Hotspur's first-choice goalkeeper for at least the next decade by team-mate Brad Friedel.

Er..um...Welcome to Spurs, Michel.

Maybe Lloris's contract extension contains a release clause in the event we don't qualify for CL football? In that event we'd be looking for a new no1 next year and Vorm may have gone elsewhere.
Excellent back up keeper to have and will keep the pressure on Hugo to perform at the top of his game.

On the face of it, it's an odd one but Vorm is likely 2nd or 3rd choice at Swansea, now - with Fabianski & Tremmel (arguably) ahead of him.

Welcome .....good keeper and hopefully push Hugo on even more.
Brad in his final season so we needed a decent 2nd keeper.....and IF and I hope not that we got a silly bid for Hugo and DL sold him ...we would be covered and not scrambling around for a keeper.

Would imagine he'll get a run out in cups etc.....but aslong as Hugo is fit, can't see him being not being our Nos 1.

Another note I hope we offer Brad some sort of role behind the scenes, unless he wants one last shot in the MLS.....true pro !!!

for the price we look to be paying it's a complete no brainer for me, if we're sucessful & LLoris stays for a few more years then he's part of a successful Club and is fighting for the jersey/ playing cup & Europeon matches & is therefore, playing at a higher level, if we suck, Hugo goes & he's our No.1, & for the record I think he's quality & its a great move by our Club

He can play Europa League
Dude, if I was a first choice goal keeper at Swansea and just come back from the world cup, I sure as hell wouldn't go somewhere else to be second choice and play the odd Europa cup game.

But it doesn't look as if he'll be first choice at Swansea, now that they have signed Fabianski. I would think that's why he's open to a move in the first place.

He isn't going to be first choice at Swansea. He would have been No 2 to Fabianski.

If you're going to move somewhere why not go somewhere where you can be number one or have a bigger chance of being number one?

You need three goalkeepers at a Football Club. Gomes went out, we've brought Vorm in. Good keeper, knows the league and will develop.

Feel more comfortable with Vorm as our "Cup" keeper and there if Hugo gets injured. He has more similarities to HL imo than BF does and will enable us to keep continuity at the back for our style of play. I think when Brad plays the back four have to adjust and they dont do that particularly well.

Great though Brad has been, he's very much on the decline. If Lloris gets injured then I'm far happier with Vorm getting an extended first team run than Friedel. Also must remember that this seasons Europa league winners get into the Champions League, all the more reason to have even better depth when you consider that we'll probably take it far more seriously than in the past.
