But to be fair, i think Boateng played quite well, while Jenas didn't have his best day.

But bringing Zokora in made no sense to me whatsoever.

But bringing Zokora in made no sense to me whatsoever.

At Sevilla, Ramos would change one of his CMs (usually whoever was playing alongside Poulsen) routinely an hour into the match. My suspicion that this is to do with tempo. He wants his CMs to work incredibly hard, so he says to the first one "run your socks off for an hour", and then I'll bring a fresh one on to close down like crazy for the last half-hour.

So, Zokora for Boateng may have been more to do with how he likes his CMs to play rather than any reflection on how the Prince was playing.

I see, that makes some sense.

And only to add to that, perhaps Boateng wasn't 100% match fit yet or at least not used to play anymore.

....Whoever said we had a top 4 squad I am afraid was sadly mistaken.

What the board implied to justify jetisoning Jol after 2 games may well come back to bite them .

It would cost something like £150m over the next two years to stand a chance of displacing one of the top 4 .

Enic won't hang around long enough to see Spurs to reach CL .

Dissapointing with a 1-1 draw today, but I liked that he did dare to change the team, and put in Bent, Defoe, Boateng from the start.

It was OK that he tried a new partnership in the 2nd half, but Keane and Berbatov did not impress today. I disagree with the Boateng - Zokora change. I thought that Jenas should have gone off instead of Boateng. Boateng and Zokora would be an exciting combination.

A little bit unlucky today aswell, when Young scored that cracker. Once in a lifetiime goal, and always against Spurs. A little bit bad defending there, though....

We will get better, though....

No, they really wouldn't. Zokora is fucking shit. The end.

P.S. He's so bad i'm going to start calling him Zakora.

how ppl think jenas is better than Zokora is beyond me. Jenas is absolute shit. No skill, no composure and no presence.
The way Jenas plays we might aswell be playing with 10 men, and that's on a good day when he's annonymous.
On a bad day we might aswell be playing against 12 men.
Shocking player

I haven't seen any of the game but with the result i'm pleased we avoided defeat, I think it's important Ramos didn't lose his first league game. Yes disappointing that we concede another screamer but as other people have mentioned no late goal conceeded. Good to see Bent get on the scoresheet.

I have to say we managed a draw against an extremely poor Middlesbrough side. At the moment I fell kind of numb about it all.

didnt see the game yet but we should be beating boro who are useless there is no way we should be happy with a point when we were 1 we should have went on and won it boro are crap

Boro are a relegation contender this season, so I see this as 2 points dropped. Hopefully Ramos sees it this way as well and leaves the players in no doubt that they have to start improving fast. At least we did not concede the last minute goal this time, so one step in the right direction.

Well, it's a bit like saying he's taller than Aaron Lennon.

Following on from my spectacular Blackpool prediction, I see this match being .... sorry chaps ... but a 1-1 Bent for us to take the lead, and the old Spurs boy Young with a cracker sometime later.

Yet another spot on prediction. I am getting too good at this.

I agree too. The sooner we get Jenas out then better he really is utter shite. Reminds me of Jason Dozzell- enough said!

Yep. Bet you were all saying the same thing when he pretty much single handedly got us the victory at Everton and the equaliser at Arsenal. I bet you thought exactly the same.

He misses having a decent central midfield partner next to him. He worked so well with Carrick, which is why the pair of them got themselves into the England team. Together.

The reason our central midfield is the way it is is because there aren't any partnerships. It's not the fault of one player or another, they just don't gel. We need to find what makes either gel with someone new. Be it Boateng and Jenas or Boateng and Zokora - I'd much prefer that to Jenas and Zokora which has only been proven to not succeed.

The lambasting of Jenas on this site is embarrassing. He's a good kid, and plays the game in the right way. And actually possesses some grey matter in between his lugholes.

There are worse performers in our team at the moment than JJ. But he's an easy target in an under-performing team (midfield).

I have to say I found it grating when the commentator on the internet stream said this relegation clash was waking up in the second half.

Yep. Bet you were all saying the same thing when he pretty much single handedly got us the victory at Everton and the equaliser at Arsenal. I bet you thought exactly the same.

To be fair, I think most people would have said that about him for the Arsenal game. He had an awful game, and redeemed himself partially with one good hit at the end but that doesn't change the fact he was otherwise very poor. Individual moments of talent can only cover his inadequancies for so long.
