    SPURS NEWS:

Egypt striker Mido insists his club Tottenham Hotspur are in fear of no-one ahead of the English League Cup semi-final draw on Saturday.

    Source - BBC

The 23-year-old helped Tottenham win their quarter-final against Southend on Wednesday setting up Jermain Defoe's late winner.

Mido wants Chelsea in the final and a showdown with fellow Africans Didier Drogba and Michael Essien.

"They're a great team but we've beaten them once this season," he said.

Tottenham are one of just two teams to have beaten Chelsea in the Premiership this season and Mido is confident Martin Jol's men could repeat their 2-1 November success.

That victory was Tottenham's first over Chelsea in the league since 1990 but Mido told the London Evening Standard: "We were very disappointed last year with the results in the cup competitions at Grimsby and Leicester.

"Now we are in the semi-final and we are waiting eagerly for the draw. Hopefully we will go through and win this cup."

Tottenham were made to work hard before finally seeing off English Championship strugglers Southend 1-0 at White Hart Lane when Defoe converted Mido's cross with just five minutes remaining in extra-time.

Mido admitted he was already thinking about a potential penalty shoot-out and he said: "It was tough work against Southend. All the credit has to go to them. To come to our ground and play against Spurs like that shows they have a lot of character.

"Thank God we haven't lost the game because in the cup you never know what will happen. A lot of big teams have been beaten by smaller teams."

I didnt want Mido back, i'm still not a big fan of his, i liked his mentality/will to win etc but was/am dubious about his attitude. Up to now i must say he's been pretty cool and i hope he continues to prove me wrong about his attitude and fits into the squad way of thinking without thinking Mido is the be all and end all. So far so good, hope you kick in with some form and goals soon.

he knows that with MJ if he steps out of line he wont be given another chance and it will be made so public that other european teams wouldnt want him

the only teams that would want him and his attitude would be near the bottom of the league

he is a great player and last season along with keane, lennon, king, dawson and robinson he was one of our best

he wont be used as much this season but sooner or later berbatov will miss matches through slight knocks and id rather have him then a reserve or youngster

he has already scored important goals for us like against west ham and over xmas he will be given some games

I think he might be in for another trip to the head masters office. "We want chelsea in the final" will be an interesting discussion point for our opponents in the semi I'm sure. Keep your mouth shut son.

Mido is my favourite player, not our best but I think he is great. Got a mouth on him which he sometimes puts to bad use i.e. sounding off and eating too many kebabs but he has passion and is skillful, he just needs minutes on the pitch and a couple of goals before he really kicks off.

    Come on Midooooooooo

    COYS...

Shut up Mido basher!....mido scored eleven goals + six assists when he played for spurs as a loanee last seasons

    I agree with that!...

however, we must support him to the full, coz he's got a lot of potential and Berby may not be available at any time!

I expect him to start against Cardiff

Not sure about that since we'd be reducing his sell-on value as a young player. I'm sure the club have their internal mechanisms.

Mido needs to gain more match fitness and I'm sure he'll get chances over the busy festive schedule. I hope his recent publicity-seeking means he lives up to his own hype. On the pitch he must match his undoubted abilities with the right attitude and application, just as he did in the first half of last season.

mido is one of the best strekir in Tottenham, but the squad is ideal for the attack is mido and Berbatov beacuse they is very stron , tall , header , great skill

He does shoot his mouth off a lot. He hasn't really had a run of games this season, but last season his 'attitude' translated on the pitch and he and Keane fired us almost within fourth spot. He's looked very rusty so far, but I sincerely believe the best is yet to come.

I liked the idea of Mido-Keane, Berb-Defoe rotation this season. Injuries have played their part, Mido and Berbs with a run of games could be devastating as well.
