Mido is an even more imposing presence nowadays...I remember being incredibly enthusiastic when we signed him... Drogba had credited Mido with being the reason he had such a great season at Marseille, thus securing his transfer to Chelsea (Drogba's subsequent career was ever so slightly more successful than Mido's...), and I though Mido was an amazing coup for us...oh well, I still sort of have fond memories...

Mido had everything really apart from (imo ) his application to fitness and being professional about it, that's what let him down

I liked the story about him and Levy when Levy went to get him in Rome. Mido wondered why Levy was running in the Airport. Levy said to get the good seats (Ryanair).

I had a dream last night that Mido lost a load of weight and started playing for Spurs again.

That is all.

I seem to remember reading that he was already rich via his family. He obviously couldn't find the motivation to keep himself fit and sharp

Says it all really

Wikipedia says he reportedly applied for British citizenship to avoid the draft

Caused us a lot of trouble and god knows how Levy got most of the transfer fee back (Middlesbrough = muppets again) but for some reason people have fond memories of him

Maybe just the fat jokes

His debut game for us was honestly one of the best debuts I've ever seen live. He was incredible that day. Thought we'd signed a superstar

I simply like his account of how Levy made him run in the airport in order to get the better seats for their flight to London.

This thread reminds me we once had Mido, Keane, Defoe and kanoute as our front options

Seems to still love Spurs so he’s alright by me.
