Korean men must fulfill their 21-month military service by age 27, with few exceptions.

This is the third different age I have seen for the time frame to complete service...

"Son is currently signed with the Spurs under a 3.1 million-pound contract, but with his overall performance this season, the club is considering renewing his contract, which will expire after this season. But if Son renews his contract with the team, he must play until 2020."

This certainly isn't true... He's currently contracted till 2020.

If he has to leave to do national service, I will eat my new £1200 season ticket

Most places (aside from this one) have agreed on 28 it seems. I’m guessing because that would make 30 as the final age after your term, as per this: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/draft-dodging-south-korean-style/

However, I can’t find any facts outlining that. Seems it’s as said, 18-35 men, 18-26 women. Wikipedia isn’t always accurate but I think the CIA database probably is https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/fields/2024.html

In a public poll on RealMeter, 75.2 percent out of the 12,111 respondents, all aged 19, responded that Son should receive a deferment or exemption from serving the military, while 20.6 percent opposed it.

Let's hope he smashes the asian games and wins it for them.

In Brexit terms, that's an overwhelming win for those who want him to do national service.
I'll bet he'll be like Elvis when he came back from national service: not that good anymore and overtaken by young upstarts from Liverpool.
