This is fun to watch but four things

1) The team in general is still on holiday, all chill, trying all these fancy flicks and a few times the ball has been stuck between two on our team! Schoolboy stuff
2) As much as I love Dier, he's not a DM. He's pinging the occasional tasty ball to Davies and such but he just isn't right for the place. If anything I hope this makes the Club realise we desperately need a new DM
3) Kyle, Kyle, Kyle. He's just shit. I can't even anymore, he just exhausts me now. He tries but his positioning is just atrocious. If he was slow we would've shipped him years ago. He's just such a weak link.
4) After a nice summer of thinking Dembele was going to be his year, he's brought me back with me seeing why Poch didn't rate him last year. He slows the play which with how we want to play he just doesn't fit. He's picking out a few nice through balls thought.

He never tracked back like that or was that tenacious in the first third.

This is new. Looks like he really wants to stay and play with his Belgian brethren.

Competition does amazing things to players...sometimes...Kyle.

Fair play to him, he was very good going forward in that half.

I don't know about that, this looks like an on-song dembele. I've seen him play like this be before just not every time. I agree that he looks hungrier than normal, fighting his place etc.

Yeah, but poch probably knows that already. If we're looking for who can back-up as DM I'd have stuck him in...but maybe poch knows he can do that job as well. *shrugs*

Dier doesn't look happy/comfortable though, even if he has broken up a couple of things.

While Dembele is irritating as he never spots the incisive pass, I'd rather play him on the right over Townsend, who continuously gives the ball away. At least Dembele helps us to retain possession and to bring other players into the game.

Agree. Quite like Dembele in that position. He seemed to rotate with Eriksen in that half which looked nice. That's generally how Poch's system works, with the left sided player of the 3 (Chadli) pushing up and coming inside as an inside forward/secondary striker.
