Right......I think I have calmed down from that utter disgrace of a performance last night. Now looking at it without pure anger, it just goes to show that as a squad we just are not good enough. Tripper, Dier (at CB), Wimmer, Wanyama, Winks (not yet) are players that should not be in the team. Last year Dier proved himself as one of, if not the, best DM in the Premier League & yet he has replaced him with Wanyama who is ok but not great.

That for me is unforgivable, Poch has found his favourite in Wanyama and Dier is suffering because of it. I cannot believe he does not see this. We have suffered from more injuries to key players than we did throughout the entirety of last season in:

Kane, Alli, Lamela, Son, Toby, Walker, Rose have all suffered injuries......and to be honest Alli, Kane & Son are still coming back from injuries and playing at only 75% because of this.

Poch for me is starting to fail this year and needs to buck his ideas up and get us playing as a team, we are incredibly poor going forward and once again we didnt have a single shot on target in the first half of a game, and got a chance to be bailed out by a penalty!

The one thing that really rattles me though is that it appears that the players dont care, its as if they have got their new shiny contracts and have taken their foot off the gas, any player who appears to have done this can f*ck off out of Spurs for all I care (yes Eriksen Im talking about you.....). If you dont care for the club / shirt then I do not care about you.

We have a very difficult game this weekend and if we dont win then we will have a record of 1 win in 10 games......that is relegation form to be honest and we shouldnt start thinking we are too big to be dragged into mid table mediocrity this year, and to be fair the way we are playing we dont deserve to be in the top half of the premier league.

The last note I will make is that this will definitely be Hugos last season at Spurs, and I will give him my blessing to leave, he has been a great servant and deserves better than the shower of sh*t infront of him.

that's what you get when you have a tight chairman who hires a defensive manager.

don't worry, Double sessions will fix it
I'm sure you were saying the same thing last season when we were scoring for fun.

Tight chairman? We spend loads, but sadly on the wrong players. To quote Donald Trump: "So true"

Im glad you've calmed down. After this post I imagine you pulling the heads off kittens with your teeth last night.

Apparently we have had 9 shots on target in 5 games utter disgrace and clearly something more wrong than a couple of injuries to use as an excuse.
I watched WBA beat Burnley the other night and was shocked to see how quick they broke, unlike our slow ponderous approach play that sees us take around 30-40 passes to get the opponents box most of which are sideways and backwards that end up with zero end product.
It's boring football and I was reasonably content with this while keeping clean sheets etc that everything would click, but now in recent weeks we are starting to leak goals and nothing is clicking.
While it's safe to say that a healthy balance is required sometimes attack can be the best form of defence keeping the opposition busy by pinning them back.
But we frighten no one by passing it around our own half what is the use of having 500+ passes a game when 499+ are in your own half played sideways.

See a minority making Wanyama a kind of scapegoat now. I seem to remember Dier was atrocious early doors this season in the position Wanyama now occupies, and he has been one of our most consistent performers. If anyone understands the game, please watch how he has been stretched to cover more spaces than he should to cover for the players who should be covering those areas switching off.

Poch has come into a lot of stick for resting Vertonghen, and rightly so. He has been playing at an incredibly high level and has marshaled the defense to great effect since Toby's injury. Having him sat on the bench sent the wrong message in what should have been considered our most important match of the season.

If Vertonghen picked up an injury last night we would have no one who could play left back available for the weekend.

Yes and people would have been slating Poch for playing him, in fact i didn't see too many people knocking the team put out before the game !

I don't get the apparent mistrust in Nkoudou. He can't be any worse than Sissoko right now and he has pace to burn which we are seriously lacking right now. Unless he's been earmarked for Saturday at lwb or left wing, I don't understand why he isn't getting minutes

What if he is unconvincing in training as he was against Liverpool?

Still time for CSKA to overtake us and leave us bottom of the group
That might work in our favour if our quest is to finish top 4.
If it's to win something however, Europa League might represent a real opportunity.

Back to Thursday-Sundays then.

Could he be any more unconvincing than our attacking players right now? (especially Sissoko). If so, then he doesn't warrant wearing a spurs shirt. If he can't get a minute when 90% of our attacking players are off form then we should shorten the time line and sell him to Sunderland or Hull asap

Why criticize wanyama when the only reason he's been playing is due to dier been injured and out of form?

I respect that Dier was vital to our performances last season but we are dealing with the present. By that same line of thinking we should persist with Eriksen as well because he too had a was effective last season.

This, how can Wanyama be at fault for playing his best but give Dier a pass because of what he did last season?

So what? Champions League should take priority. This pissing around with the squad never pays dividends. I'm beginning to think we should always play our strongest team, except for League Cup games.

Well among commentators and some fans on here there is recognition and understanding of why this happened, a decision was taken but you want to stamp your feet and insist it was wrong?
I prefer to beat Chelsea on Saturday so would have taken a similar decision.

It took Man City, with all their wealth and superstars, years to find their feet in this competition. The expectations of some of our fans are unrealistic. We're still minnows in the CL, and we went out like minnows. Don't panic - we'll be back.
