Man U spent 210m£ since LVG arrival.... Don't think we can ever match unless a rich buyer comes in. They are spending to win the league while we are trying to get into top 4.

Diego Costa?
Aguero?

I can't think of anyone that is both on their level, and available to Man United.

Arsenal have the same issue really. Giroud is 2nd rung.
Cavani and Higuain are two names that spring to mind.

Is Benteke not? Certainly has the potential to be.

Edit: I can see for the above your classifying world class as the top tier of players rather than players who perform well at a world level.

If you mean international then I don't class that as world class. It's far from it. If you are talking about having a good record of a goal every 2, without ever having the demands of 2 games a week, then I still don't.

Benteke is proven as a very good player. To win the premier league next season, is going to take something else. He has to play more games, so also has to avoid injury, which he has been prone to.

Did people really believe that Southampton would sell to us? I think they'd rather sell to Portsmouth. Add to that the player stated he wanted CL football, apart from a few more £ he would earn with us it's a sideways step for him.

Gettable, but they are not as good as the above. They've had good seasons, in shit leagues. Nothing I've ever seen has made me think, "Theres a striker who can help you win you the premier league"

I think sometimes it's not what you are doing it's where you are doing it. If Benteke did for Utd what he does for Villa people would rate him as world class.

I think it can be quite a simplistic way of looking at things. Fergie knew the value of a striker and it's why he won so much. Would any of Cole, Yorke, Sheringham or Solskjaer been classified as "World Class"? Unlikely, but it's doesn't matter as they did the job required of them.

Disappointing but not surprising. The time to get Schneiderlin was right at the start of the 2014 summer window, when Poch was first appointed. We missed the chance.

It makes me sad that United are able to play fantasy football.

Fellaini and Young played big parts last season, as well. Crazy. On that note, I'd take Ashley Young. We need wingers and can you imagine Kane with his delivery?

Januzaj's development is going to go to shit.
