Nothing new really, just speculation:

Bookmakers have slashed the odds on Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin joining Tottenham this summer from 10/1 to 6/4, following an ‘enormous’ flurry of bets.

The France international is wanted by some of the Premier League biggest sides, with Arsenal and Chelsea among those interested in his services, though links between the midfielder and reunion with Mauricio Pochettino have failed to go away.

The former Saints manager, who left St Mary’s for White Hart Lane last summer, failed in his attempts to bring the 25-year-old to north London.

But, following a flurry of bets supporting the deal, Betfair have today slashed their odds from 10/1 to 6/4 on Pochettino finally signing his man.

Michael Bowers, Football Trader for Betfair commented "Rumours have been circulating linking the 25 year old Frenchman to almost every big club in the Premier League and Arsenal have been leading the charge in the betting, with them accounting for 70 per cent of all of bets taken.

"Today has seen enormous support for their North London rivals however, and we’ve been forced to cut Spurs from 10/1 to 6/4 favourites.

“The biggest stumbling block for Spurs would be entering into a bidding war with a club like PSG at 6/1 or United who are 14/1, which might overinflate the price and force them to miss out on the midfielder.”

Discussing his summer transfer plans earlier this month, Pochettino admitted that he hoped to bring players with Premier League experience to White Hart Lane.

Schneiderlin would certainly fit the mould.

“If we can reach the players with experience of the Premier League, I think it is better because it is good when you’ve played in it,” said the Spurs head coach.

“You know the country, the competition.

The story comes less than 24 hours after Jay Rodriguez, another Tottenham target, committed his long term future to Southampton by signing a new four-year contract.

Morgan Schneiderlin to sign for before 3rd September 2015
Tottenham - 6/4
Arsenal - 7/2
Liverpool - 5/1
PSG - 6/1
Manchester United - 14/1
Chelsea - 16/1
Manchester City - 20/1

He's gonna be this summers schniederlin like last summer schniederlin was the summer before's Moutinho, like Moutinho was the summer before that's Leandro.

I guess it'll be good to have a repeat window target, we've been a bit sensible since Leandro fell from grace.

Southampton are trying to price him out, but I'm still optimistic we can get him.

Morgan Schneiderlin has SIGNED for Arsenal… despite huge cash on Spurs move

HUGE cash has been lumped on Morgan Schneiderlin quitting Southampton to join Tottenham.

It's forced bookies Betfair to slash the odds on Schneiderlin moving to White Hart Lane from 10/1 to 6/4.
That's despite claims from two separate sources that the Frenchman has already AGREED a move to Arsenal.
French newspaper L’Equipe reported earlier this year that the 25-year-old will leave St Mary’s at the end of the season having pushed for a move last summer.
That claim backs up those from The Secret Footballer, a former Premier League player who has written two books.
He tweeted "My understanding is that they [Arsenal] have an agreement already in place with Schneiderlin."

I doubt Arsenal would want him now that Coquelin has, apparently (I don't watch them), developed into a midfield beast. Wenger's favourite phrase has become 'We don't need him' when a player moves or is about to move. Said it recently about Depay.

Spurs, however, NEED Schneiderlin. Proper midfield engine that we lack. Bentaleb and Mason both need someone like him next to them to develop. Irony is that one of them is likely to miss out (probably Mason) if he joins. Hope he does, suspect he won't.

Nothing in that article really says he's going to Arsenal, just once source "understands" that he's "agreed" to go there which seems like pure speculation to me, the most interesting part is that we're now bookies favourites though.

That is a fantastically clickbait headline considering the content of it.

I'll wait for a source that is actually decently trustworthy.

Why even bother posting a Daily Star link.

Why even bother commenting on it. I know the head line is based on, well, nothing but sensationalism.
I know the Daily Star is on the same low level as The Sun, but they're not rubbish all the time. And, in fact, their comments about the possibility that bigger clubs, like ManU and PSG, can drive up the price beyond Spurs' capacity unfortunately makes sense.

They are rubbish all the time, that's the whole purpose of the newspaper. They make up stories- end of.

I am not from UK so I don't really follow that paper but you may be right in that all in the article - even the so-called qoutes - maybe fabricated.
When it comes to football journos it seem there are few papers who actually have any kind of standards.

The Sun, the Metro, the Express and the Star. Those are the 4 that are absolute shite. The Daily Mail and Mirror are near that level but have some decent journos and have got things right in the past. I'd say the Telegraph and the Times are the most trustworthy in terms of newspapers. The Guardian, Independent and Evening Standard are about mid-way.
