So, Holtby to Hamburg on loan. Thats one midfielder out that could make space for MS. No optimistic but you never know ;)

In fairness though, the media will be in absolute overdrive linking United to all and sundry so you have to take each link with an enormous pinch of salt.

We fucked this one up. Not often do you have a player of his stature want to come to Spurs over CL sides or United. To get quality you have to pay a little over odds, that is how the market has been the last few years with influx of money and we just won't do it. Now I am sure we will get to watch MS as an opponent in years to come regretting not paying a few extra to land him.

As good a player as he is, we'd have to be mental for paying almost £30m to buy Schneiderlin IMO. And that is genuinely what I believe he'd cost going by their other sales.

I agree in principal but it was going to be difficult after we took their manager - couple Levy's determination to get the best possible deal, which he's very good at to be fair, and it was always going to be bloody tough.

A real shame though in every sense if it doesn't happen. Was absolutely perfect for us - for reasons that have been well documented over and over again.

I suspect Southampton are adding a premium in order to release him to us.
Think he will end up at a CL side (or United) for £5/7 million less than we were quoted.

I expect to hear a lot of ITK in the last hours of the window and through out the coming days telling us about how Levy swooped in and gave Southampton what they wanted for MS because he knew how badly Poch wanted him and all was agreed in principal before the goal posts were moved by Southampton at the last min.......nothing the club could do unfortunately and Levy is blameless because he moved mountains to try and make it happen with his wheelbarrow
