Incredible how little pundits know about the laws of the game. All stating that ours wasn't a penalty even though the law clearly states that it was regardless of whether Kane was in an offside position or not.

Just coming on here to post the same.

They've had the whole day and they couldn't work it out.

Also saying about Verts encroachment ( ignoring they did the same for ours ) but then not realising if he did Auba would’ve been offside as the ball came back in

The utter lip service paid to Xhaka's cynical red card worthy challenge on Kane in the first half. Stonewall red card completely ignored by yet another ****ing ref I am so sick of this shit.

And I've seen people questioning the Torreira red card. Are you fucking kidding me? Off both feet and catches Danny high on the shin. Horrendous tackle. And Shearer's blathering on about he doesn't mean to hurt him ffs

Not correct, if our player is in the penalty area and it is saved it's a retake regardless if they have encroached as well. If there is encroachment on both sides and the penalty is scored it stands. If the penalty is scored and the attacking team encroaches it's a retake.

Yes I know but the point is without Verts there Auba wouldn’t have had the second chance.

The refs will never blow for encroachment as both sides do it.

When VAR comes in they will have to. The thing I can never understand is why the defending players always stay behind kicker, provided that they are behind the penalty mark, they can stand where they want to outside of the penalty area.

Actually, if there is encroachment on both sides, the penalty will be retaken no matter what.

You look at Twitter and the idiots have been talking about it only to be corrected by hundreds of fans, which they've then completely ignored.

No, if the penalty is scored and only the defending team encroach the goal stands as the attacking team has not infringed the laws of the game. Also regardless of what VAR or whatever outside influence says, if the referee says its a goal, it's a goal (or not if he/she decides).

But if BOTH team encroach, the penalty is retaken, goal or not.

I have reached the conclusion that MOTD is now a sanitised 'football lite' version of events.

Not only incidents happening in our games but throughout the whole PL.

The so called pundits have very blinkered ingrained views harking back to the biased Sky4 days with the lesser clubs losing out.

Arsenal have a great offensive counter attacking game going on but it is seemingly based on
'stop them at all costs' defending involving continuous filth tackles back from the Vieira times and they are getting away with it by crap refereeing.

If that Xhaka tackle from behind gets penalised the game is changed from there on in.

I only ever watch it for our analysis and highlights if we win, however these days I tend to watch other games goals/highlights via the sky sports centre app. No stupid punditry, and usually the key moments.

Wonder if they'll show our new signing (or pitch invader :cautious:) Miguel at the end.

Nice to see. And i am sure that will make Moura closer to the fans.

It was a lovely moment. We’ve already got so many great memories of the New Lane, and it’s only been three games.
