Jose Mourinho has urged Troy Parrott to follow the Scott McTominay route to becoming a Premier League first-team player.

Source: Daily Mail

It’s good to see the Jose’s reasons for holding Troy back.

I think that approach is totally fair for a club manager to take . Man management and player development takes time. Not everyone is a Wayne Rooney

Everyone understands easing a young player in but that decision to give him 3 mins was just bollocks.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I think it was literally just a taste and was all part of the first team match day experience. If he is integrated into the team next season no-one is going to look back and give a shit that he only got 3 minutes against Wolves.

Just watched and 18 yr old I have never heard of boss Liverpool who we and most others run scared of. This season we have seen many young players emerging, including Tanganga, so why not play Parrot a bit surely playing games is what he needs.

He isnt Harry Kane, we all know that, but we are playing without a striker at all, and losing matches, I cant see what harm could be done by playing him. How much worse could it be than what we are doing?

Fuck me did any of you actually read the article? You're all just repeating the same shit regardless of what was actually said. Look at what he's saying about his attitude, Jose could make his life easier and just chuck Parrott in when he's not ready to appease the fans but when he's talking about attitude, trying to get Parrott to learn the correct approach and attitudes will stand him in good stead for the rest of his career. Jose looks to be looking at the longer term ramifications. If Parrott can prove himself in training and how he conducts himself it looks like he'll get an opportunity sooner rather than later but it sounds like mentality wise he is being given a huge wake up call and in the long run we will benefit from that.

Mourinho hints at attitude problems and clearly wants to see an improvement before rewarding Troy with significant first team football. Tbh I think that's completely reasonable and is in the long-term interests of both the club and the player

Sorry but, when Harry was first introduced into the team the absolute majority of SC thought he would never make it. Just a few of us were willing to give him a fair crack.
If Parrot doesn't deliver, I can see a similar scenario happening.
I think he should play, but we are among the worst fanbases for him to have a smooth bedding in.

To be fair, Harry was at the end of a long list of strikers who failed to break through since Falco. Everyone had pretty much given up!

Its stupid. It wasn't a hot bath.

Also, if he gets a few minutes and doesn't do well it's not going to psychologically scar him for life.

I dont think anyones gonna give a shit in a few days apart from maybe Parrot himself. That doesnt mean it wasn't a shit for brains idea. Whether Parrot comes good or not is irrelevant as this 3min cameo will have no bearing on that whatsoever.
