Couple videos showing his skills/goals. He looks strong, pacey and skillful, we should really make this happen in January. I can see him fitting in effortlessly. transfermarkt values him at 750K, if we sell Andros, Carroll and Fazio we can go in for Moussa, try to find a understudy to Dier (unless Milos signs that extension ) and bring Pritchard slowly back to fitness.

Seeing as we have been using young players, improving them and giving them a real run in the team you'd hope that players would be attracted to this. Admittedly Man Utd is a draw to players but if they are smart and don't want to be the next Zaha and want to be the next Kane/Dier/Alli etc etc then we are VERY good option.

Think if we meet the asking price then we'll be in with a great shout to sign him over Man Utd. I think many people now recognise that we have as a club a talent to develop youth - something Man Utd were fabled for previously. People look at bale, lennon, walker, and now rose, dele alli, kane, mason and bentaleb as inspiration and a place to come and play.

He looks decent, but I know nothing other than the YouTube vids about him.

He's only 19, but he doesn't look very good from those videos imo. I trust the scouting team though

What part of his play left you unimpressed?

Considering it's a highlights video, his first touch looks heavy several times and when he runs with the ball it doesn't feel like he is in control of the ball. As if he wins by strength and not by skill
But that's only the feeling that video gave me. I haven't seen a full match

Plenty of potential IMO. I reckon he'd slot in without ruffling any feathers and with a bit of luck would develop quickly as a viable alternative to HK.

I wonder if the issue is not "who is Kane's backup," rather it is "how do we play if Kane is out?" If Kane isn't on the pitch, can we play the same way? Or does Poch want Berahino because Kane is a unique talent and there is no replicating him. We're currently playing a Eriksen/Dembele/Lamela + Kane. Without Kane, I don't know if we would play an Eriksen/Dembele/Lamela + Son(or N'Jie, Chadli, Berahino, or SS Dembele). It might look more like a 4-3-3 with the front 3 playing interchangeable attacking roles.

All that to say, we don't really know if Poch wants a Kane backup or just more fluid attacking players to plug into his attack.

I think you are right on both your points. Yep, Man U are still a massive draw and could definitely pay a player more than a club like Spurs can, but.....as you say, we seem to be a much better club right now for young players to develop, we play a more exciting intensive style of football, and there currently would seem to be a brighter future for our club. That could all change of course. Man U only need to bring in (another) new world class manager and throw another 200 mil at buying players for things to rapidly change again.

Two of the same sounds a great idea. That way maybe we will have one fit player all the time

Can't see Berahino being a viable option, so it's between Dembele and Depoitre.
Dembele, longer term, probably has a higher ceiling, but Depoitre I'd imagine may be more of a short term gain.
One or the other.

One striker, plus maybe a CB if Fazio goes, unless we fill that role within, Carter-Vickers or convince Velkjovic to sign on if he's moved up to the CB backup role.

Maybe a 'leave there until summer deal', like Alli was, in the shape of Rico Henry? Spoke to a lad at work today who's a Walsall fan, rates him quite highly, pace, versatile, hard working.

Don't think we need any more AM/WF even if/when Townsend goes in Jan. Also, whilst we don't have another designated DM like
Dier, I'm not sure we'll sign one given the amount of CM's we have, unless Carroll goes also.
