I'm going on the rules of Championship Manager (late 90s editions) - where it was always six months.
You need to play Football Manager to brush up on the rules.
Wouldnt surprise me if we told Dembele and his team that if we pull out of the deal now and re enter them in the summer when he's a free agent we'll give them a higher signing on/agent fee if they agree to join us. That way the only losers are Fulham.
That's the kind of sinister wizardry that would have shinehead's name all over it.
Would we have had to pay his wages if Fulham had him back on loan ? I was hoping we could at least done the same thing we did with Dele Alli ...
What kind of tribunal fee would he net? Recent history suggests it would be £6m plus addons, or more.
What history tells you that?
Sturridge and Ings
Strange one this
I don't really understand what Fulham where hoping to achieve by forcing him to stay and potentially losing him for peanuts in a few months ? Especially with them getting a new attacking signing anyway
Not getting relegated?
Sturridge was 3.5m + up to 3m in potential bonuses and he had already played in 25 PL games. Ings hasn't gone to tribunal yet.
Liverpool have been offering £6m the whole time supposedly, but if that's the total deal including add-ons then that sets my mind at ease.
They only had him for a couple of years?
He's not British so would have a much smaller premium?
He's considered home grown and will have been at Fulham for nearly four years come the summer window, so it's fair game in that regard, but he'd probably net less than whatever Ings is going to cost Liverpool.
Hmmm yeah I heard this one yesterday
By all accounts he wanted out and has been showing signs of this since the transfer news with him came about.
So another Berahino on the sulk or on the bench but either way seemingly not a lot of use for his manager.
I guess we shall see.
Surely Fulham realise that it's perfectly feasible to get through half a season with only one striker, selfish bastards...
If we do eventually sign him then I can see it being via Belgium to avoid any errant tribunal fees.
That would take 6 months and possibly cup tie him for Europe, when we wanted him this month
I like that Wimmer is tough and rough but he has to be careful not to turn his toughness into clumsiness...
Spurs are shaky now...
