I've seen reports that it is a 6 month contract, so until the end of the season, doesn't necessarily mean a loan. It would be very odd for a team to announce a signing without mentioning it was a loan and the team they are loaning him from.
That is a good point. The whole situation is odd. Who knows when we will find out the truth, if ever.

Interesting, with the ITK saying he wasn't that highly considered here, and we're letting him go.

People just make things up when there's a void of information. I don't remember anything particularly credible. I think we were just being closed on it because of the delicacy of not having him tied downn

Like I said in another thread, we dont need real Nigerians when we have British Nigerian equivalents like Oduwa, Onomah, Alli etc. Home grown is better (y)

The plot thickens, this is from 26/12/2015, the quote is from his agent. Whilst there is noway to prove the guy is his agent, he is also the person that said we had signed him in the first place (possible the only source for all the reports too) and there has since been picks with Yahaya in our training gear and in a group academy photo when they won a comp.

“Tottenham Hotspur said they will decide where he’ll go in January which has not been done yet.” he further stated. Musa Yahaya will be farmed out on loan in January after he failed to secure a work permit. He was initially expected to sign a professional deal with the club on the 2nd of January, 2016.

Going back to November 2015 there was a whole series of tweets from an (at least apparently) Nigerian journo which was summarised in the link above.

So much misinformation, really not confident that we ever signed him after some sort of pre-contract which stipulated we should have signed Yahata when he was 18 (in December). Think its safer to assume he is NOT a Spurs player

The thing is that article says talks broke down between us and his agent (but no quotes), yet in December, there are quotes from his agent saying he was signing 2nd Jan and would be loaned out until the summer.

Think the only thing everyone will agree on is that the whole story is very murky, and no certainly.

The original story was that Yahaya had signed a pre-contract and would sign a proper contract when he was aged 18 in December 2015. I've not heard of any definitive story that he ever signed the contract aged 18, and our best ITK's like @Trix haven't either, so its not clear whether Yahaya is or ever will be a Spurs player.

The story in November (of which the link is a version) is that there was a lot of issues between the Academy who had developed Yahaya and held his registration and the agent - reading in between the lines I'm guessing the Agent wanted a big fee for his services and peanuts paid to the Academy for Yahaya signing for a club such as Spurs. Either because of those issues, or Spurs being less impressed with Yahays Spurs decided not to sign the player.

So until I hear definitively that we've signed the player, I'm sceptical as to whether we'll ever see him play for Spurs - and of course that's without considering the UK work permit issue.
