Tottenham 'enter race for Nabil Fekir' following Harry Kane injury

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/transfer-news-today-tottenham-enter-13865756

Tottenham will rival Liverpool for Nabil Fekir's signature this month, it has been claimed.

The French forward nearly joined the Reds last summer but a deal broke down at the last minute.

**Mods** Looks like The Mirror are reporting 'according to Calcio Mercato' so please close if against the rules.

Interesting timing considering his recent transfer request.

Would love this, but I’m not sure if his fitness and work rate are up to what Poch demands, unfortunately.

I'm not convinced he's a fit here with our current setup. Every Lyon fan I've seen says he's a waste out wide (which is where we would want to put him). If he's only at his best directly off Kane then it isn't worth the 45 mil or so that it would cost to bring him in.

That's Deles spot and he isn't being knocked out of the starting lineup.

Not sure I agree. We obviously need more options for the front two in the 4-4-2 diamond setup, and he'd give us that. He's also probably one of the best potential Eriksen replacements on the market. Signing Fekir now would shore up a major short-term weakness up front and also set us up for life after Eriksen if Madrid does come in for him in the summer.

That’s a few in there that I wouldn’t mind. All at good ages as well

Just what I've read from Lyon fans. I think with a healthy squad we revert back to the 4-2-3-1 and that the 4-4-2 setup is to assist the lack of midfielders.

I think he's more of a goal scorer than a creator from what I've seen as well.

"Enters race"
"Thinking of"
"Considering"
That's all we are good at
You missed out:
“We have an interest”
“In the loop”
“Enquiries have been made”

If transfer windows were global politics of the 20th century, we’d be the English civil service of the 1950s.

Chelsea would obviously be the fucking nazis

The article also says we’re looking at Piotr Zielinski as Eriksen replacement, any good?

We should be raiding Germany. Still interested in seeing what Hazard II can do in the PL. Gnabry is also an interesting pacy option.
