His made significant contributions in recent times. Struggled in the beginning imo. Im starting to feel like we may not need another striker. Chadli, Son & Njie should be able to give Kane a chance to put his feet up once in a while. Poch & Co may want to see this season out. Go into winter transfer window with a new a perspective on things instead of trying to fill the void right now...just my humble onion.

I agree with you Nacer. I love this kid. He has what it takes. We dont need to hurriedly get a new striker just coz Kanes the only one at the moment

This guy is perfect to have around, bags of end product. I'm not sure about a run of games with him as the striker though, he's a good option when Kane needs a rest, but what if he's out for a month or two?

I find him a really frustrating player. Just when I've about had enough of him not producing anything, he always pops up with an absolute belter of a goal. Wish he was more consistent.

I'm hoping that those fans who don't rate Chadli don't think Berahino is the answer. Check the stats, there's not much difference.
Considering this season has been hampered by injury and the previous season probably disrupted by family bereavement.
I for 1 am happy with all 3 strikers and would prefer continuity instead of possible disruption by bringing in a 4th striker (y)

Nothing I've seen from Chadli suggests he can play up top. He's neither physically strong enough nor hard working enough to replace Kane. He will continue to get it decent amount of goals drifting in off the wing but the couple of times he's played up top he's clearly shown that he's not up to it.

Everything I've seen from Chadli suggests he can play up top. He's physically strong enough and mentally smart enough to replace Kane when needed. All his goals drifting in from the wing clearly shows he's up for it.

Nice finishes today - but some glaring misses too!
Not our answer if we really consider this season an opportunity at a title tilt and want to try to put the race for 4th place beyond doubt, however he can certainly do an adequate job.

Edit: Also, he's fantastically two-footed, isn't he?

Good on you for volunteering Nacer...but I don't think so.
Seems to be doing ok, just got another 2 and an assist...

We all want a shiny new striker but we should trust out manager a squad to step up, confidence seems to be high and this is our chance to see just how good and versatile our players can be...

Who would have backed Eric to be doing such a good job as dmc? Or the moose to have become so integral to our winning sides?

Chadli didn't exactly set the world alight in his first season (though was also scapegoated to some extent) and could easily have gone the way of Paulinho and co as another Baldini flop. Since then, though, he has clearly shown that he's a top player who is a huge asset to the club and bargain at the price he was bought. His workrate, aggression and consistency could all certainly improve, but apart from that I see little missing from his game - in particular he is beautifully balanced, strong and a fantastic all-round finisher.

These attributes mean that his best position could feasibly be up front, and he would certainly be my first choice replacement for Kane out of our current squad, with the other obvious choices - Son and Njie - looking better from wide. While Chadli is an excellent player in the three behind, we have a lot of options in those positions already, so even if it doesn't become his main position, then developing him as a 9 would be a great option to have. Best of all, if he could prove himself in that position, it would reduce the need for us to buy a top class, expensive out and out back up to Kane, and with it the associated risks - i.e. cost, Soldado-esque uncertainty, risk of disrupting harmonious squad dynamic. If we then added Dembele as a promising, Anelka-esque player to develop gradually and Berahino as a Defoe-type, we'd have a very complete set of forward options at relatively little cost - an excellent solution to the only area of our squad that is in urgent need of attention.

I would be interested to hear anyone's views on why Chadli might not be suited to playing up front - from what I have seen there aren't any, but clearly I could be missing something

There's always someone that just has to try and be the voice of reason. We need a new striker. Doesn't matter if they rubbish and cost £22m. We need a new striker

Clearly we need more striking options, which is why we are trying to sign Dembele and Berahino. It is silly, though, not to look at how you can best adapt the talents of the current squad to increase those options - Dier as a midfielder being the perfect example. If they are clearly square pegs in round holes then, yes, it is preferable to buy someone, but don't see how gambling big money on a player when there could be a good solution already on the books makes any sense
