Hopefully he'll have learnt an important lesson up there: no-one gives a shit about step-overs, rainbow flicks or any other fancy moves. All that matters is final product - scoring and creating goals and contributing to stopping the opposing team doing that. I can think of one or two members of our current squad who I wish had spent a few months in lower league Scottish football and learnt that lesson.

Needs to be sent straight out to lower league football, if he can't get into the Rangers first team then he's not going to get into ours.

You'd think that would be common sense, but some are somehow talking as if he can contribute here.

The Scottish Championship is barely a step up from Sunday League. I'm fully aware of how snobby that sounds, but I love it. I've turned heel

Obviously lost confidence after going into each game thinking that the opposition were going to try and break his legs. That's going to do that to a player. He went there and did a bit too much show boating. Let's hope he's learnt his lesson and comes back here and regains his confidence.

Despite coming back I still think it was a good loan move for half a season. He played regularly for a large chunk of time and would have experienced some highs and lows. Think he could get a championship loan next or top 10 league 1 team.

It's not common sense though. You're logic is if someone can't perform at one level they can't perform at another I don't believe is correct, as there are various reasons that can happen.

Do you honestly believe that a player that has come through a World Class academy and not only that is one of the highest rated players at said academy. Has represented England and is rated by the manager doesn't have the ability or skill to play just above Sunday League football or isn't good enough for Scottish Champ. Do you think we would hold onto a player that isn't good enough for Scottish Champ despite the fact we are releasing players like Daly, Paul and have released Kevin Stewart who is now at Liverpool. So there must be another reason. Loans don't work for various and don't suit all players, one minute he was apparently smashing Championship defences in preseason and now he isn't good enough for Scottish Championship defenders I don't think so.

There are many people that though that Onomah wouldn't do well on loan due to how he plays. He could easily have gone on loan and not played well then people would assume he wouldn't be good enough for the first team, but that wouldn't be right would it?

Tbh, I think he's all style no substance from what I've seen. Decent with the ball at his feet, but when he actually has to kick it he's looked below average thus far to me. I'm sure you know more about him than I do, though - as I have only seen a limited number of games.

I do know what you mean, for whatever reason a few of Kane's loans didn't work out but look at him now. I'd love it if Oduwa came through and had a career with us, I just don't think he can offer anything to the squad right now.

I think get him a loan in England and see how he gets on. The leagues in Scotland are of such low quality it's probably detrimental to send anybody up there. Even the top division is 1 good team and then a load of conference level teams. Fans are decent though. The only good thing is that he's experienced thuggish **** defenders targeting him, which will expose him to the shithousery side of football.

They're big fans of him up there. No surprise that he's staying, but I'd like to see him get an English Championship loan sooner rather than later.
I hear what you are saying but as someone who spent a number of years in Glasgow the pressure for playing for Rangers is immense and any player who can perform on that stage is serving a great apprenticeship. Coping with the pressure playing away at top Premier league teams will seem easy in comparison ... whether he will be good enough is another question but let's hope so

Versatility, I like it. Maybe eying off Veljkovic's place in the production line?

Ball is making a fair statement up in Glasgow, let's hope his progression continues

Ball and Veljkovic played as a cb2 in the first half of last season, and Ball had a major step up from the previous season not quite matching Veljkovic, but not that far behind resulting in Poch having him on the bench in a couple of games.

Probably not as good as Veljkovic, but more versatile - plays cb, dm, rb (got 2 assists in a dozen games for Luton), and can score goals from cm.

Hoping to see him with the first team squad in pre-season

Rangers boss Mark Warburton has stated that he was “really pleased” with Dominic Ball’s display in the 1-0 win over Raith Rovers last night.

The defender, who joined the Gers on a season-long loan deal from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer, put in a good shift at Stark's Park as Andy Halliday’s goal on the stroke of half time helped Rangers to consolidate their place at the top of the Scottish Championship table.

And Warburton praised the performance of Ball, with the manager making special mention of the 20-year-old’s positional sense against Rovers.

“I also thought Dom Ball was excellent – he was neat in everything that he did and his positioning was good too, and we are really pleased with him”, he told Rangers TV.

Ball, who is a product of Tottenham’s youth system, is yet to make a senior appearance for Spurs.

The centre-back has thus far made 17 appearances in all competitions for Rangers, with 13 of those coming in the league.

The youngster, whose present contract with Tottenham is set to expire next summer, spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two side Cambridge United.

Dominic Ball played another 90 minutes as a DM again on Saturday.

Had it up with the Leicester match and as expected he looked good. Would rather bring Ward or Ball in to DM next year than buy someone like Wanyama.

Both versatile players as you know - Ball has played CB, DM and RB in mens football, the first 2 positions are ones Spurs could certainly appreciate reinforcements.

The standard of play he's dealing with at Rangers is not the highest, but he's certainly having to learn how to deal with the rough stuff which will stand him in good stead, whilst the Scottish Championship is on League 2/Conference standard Rangers have better players to train with and an excellent manager to guide him and he's experienced playing in front of big crowds (50,,000+) , so whilst I think he could have got a better loan I think his experience at Rangers will stand him in good stead.

Looking forward to him joining up with Spurs first team in pre-season - atm can see half a dozen or so vying for places in pre-season games, maybe CCV, KWP, Ball., Ward, Ogilvie, Harrison, Oduwa et al, although possibly not enough room for all to play.

The future is bright and lillywhite,
