Best of luck to him on the loan - had hoped for a League 1 loan, but I guess he'll learn a lot with a top League 2 club

Interesting loan, I hope he goes there full of confidence but also determination and makes a good impression there. No doubt he has ability, be good to see him further his reputation.

Came on for his debut on 59 minutes

Won 2 free kicks suggesting that the opposition found him difficult to handle ! Sounds good

Few comments from a Luton fans forum :

..is pretty shit hot.

Needs to start Tuesday, no easing him rubbish

you could sense the crowd had seen that youtube video when he went on a similar run today, and were willing him to hammer home

He is going to scare the shit out of a few league 2 defences based on that!

Great find SI and great comments. Love that, doing exactly as we expected, hopefully show why that loan was too low for him.

Is there really that much difference between League 1 and 2? If he can get regular games I'd be happy.

I'd suggest that the Championship and half of League 1 are pretty close.

Not a regular watcher but although League 2 is better than it used to be its a level below League 1 imo. Good experience to get regular gametime, but he doesn't play against the same kind oif level of players he needs to (and indeed some of his teammates will not be on the same level). So would have preferred him at League 1, but he is where he is, so have to hope he makes his mark - seem to recall David Beckham was on loan at Division 4 York and it did him no harm....

Out of the 3 teams promoted last year they are 18th, 8th and 5th in League 1 this season. So it doesn't look like there is too much of a gap between the 2 leagues.

Luton are currently 4th. So he will probably get quite a bit of the ball if he plays.

Hope you are right.

On the other hand we have just bought a League 1 player for £5m who I'd guess is a contender to play for us next season.

Maybe we can extend our search for targets into League 2 ? :):eek:

Becks went to Preston NE, wish it had been York as they were my local team growing up

He's impressed me in every video I've seen. Surprised he doesn't get mentioned more as a big prospect.

Came back from 0-2 to draw 2-2 with York City. From the Luton Town OS:

"Nathan Odewa (sic), given his first senior start, also impressed and he almost set-up the first goal only for Andy Drury to sky a shot from inside the six-yard box with the goal at his mercy.

...

Both sides went for the jugular in the final stages and in the seventh minute of added time Nathan Oduwa almost snatched the Hatters a last-gasp victory only for his low shot to be kept out by Olejnik."

A bit more from lutontoday.co.uk:

"Town had made one change to the side, with Spurs youngster Nathan Oduwa handed his professional debut after impressing at Oxford on Saturday, Shaun Whalley dropping to the bench

The hosts had looked threatening in the opening stages too as Ryan Hall on his home bow, burst away, exchanging passes with Oduwa to shoot over.

However, despite the odd bright opening, mainly through the speed and trickery of Oduwa, the game degenerated into a tedious affair as Luton created little, bar Jayden Stockley glancing wide.

Hatters somehow failed to take the lead on 35 minutes when Oduwa took advantage of a defensive slip and teed up Drury, who from six yards out skied horribly over.

...

York were quite clearly happy with the draw from then on, seeing both McCoy and Olejnik booked for time-wasting, while Oduwa almost won it at the death with another direct run and low shot, but Olejnik stuck out a hand to ensure the points were shared."
