You are Tanguy, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

It is a lazy analysis to simply label him lazy. He is clearly not well suited to the intensity of the PL and certainly doesn't have the engine for it in CM. I wonder if there could be a role for him similar to what he has done for Napoli where he is a sub that comes on for the last 20 - 25mins in tight games or to keep possession of the ball where more control is needed. In the right formation, there could also be a role for him as a no 10 with zero defensive responsibilities where he can slide those deft passes through to the forwards. If we end up getting Madisson then he could be a back up. A pretty expensive one mind but we've already done our money so as long as we get some value out of him then that's fine with me.
He made a very positive impact in as a sub under Mourinho during the ridiculously congested start of the 2020-21 campaign.
However, the idea that he doens't physically have the engine to play CM in English football has been disproven though. During that same period, when we were playing 3-4 games per week for a month, Ndombele completed 90 minutes twice in the space of 5 days, plus came on as a sub for an EL game between that...and put in a stand-out performance in all three games. He was fantastic for 90 minutes in the high-intensity League Cup win over Chelsea, despite having played 108 minutes in the previous 4 days.
This is why I think his mentality is the only thing holding him back from being a world-class CM, as he's shown he can do it when he's up for it. Sadly, my hopes of him living up to our 2019 expectations of him ended 3.5 years ago.

It's lazy not to improve your fitness. Fitness is purely a matter of effort and repetition.

Anyway, this has been discussed tons so sorry for repeating it!

I think it sends a poor message. Tolerating someone who has a poor level of fitness and giving them any sort of minutes.
