The notion of moving Sissoko to RWB could be something to consider on occasion, to deputise when there are injuries and/or suspensions, but it’s still very much a ‘could do a job’ move. It’s a position that requires an upgrade to enhance the balance of the entire side and it would be very risky to gamble on converting a non-specialist to the position.

I think Sissoko and the team in general would be best served by repaying the form he has shown and affirming his hugely increased confidence in the middle of the park.

The notion of moving Sissoko to RB is, quite frankly, stupid.

Literally 2 weeks ago we were reading things (on here) like, "Son getting player of the year is ridiculous when Sissoko has bossed opposition & been the most missed player when not available".

Or "he's become our most important player, should be first name on the team sheet because he's our drive in midfield" etc etc etc.

Fast forward to today, "We should think about taking the powerhouse midfielder who should've won Player of the Year & making him a RB".

Stupid.

Thank you, I would give this 100 winner ratings if I could.

Others are saying we should sell Sissoko because his stock is as high as its ever been. :banghead:

People have different opinions, it's all fair enough mate. We're all mentally unhinged on here anyway, so chatting shit is kind of a default setting for most of us.

IMO we need to bolster up the CM positions as a first priority. If we could land Ndombele and LoCelso that would be brilliant but I don't think we'd then spend the extra on AWB. In that case I'd be very happy to bring Semedo in (or Meunier). That doesn't do us any favours on the HG front but we'll likely lose Janssen, N'Koudou and possibly Llorente, Vorm and Lamela who occupy squad places. Bit of juggling to be done.

The Home Grown issue is overblown. Sign a couple of English U21s like Clarke and Sess and it really isn't a problem anymore.

*Assuming there's going to be a clearout of international players too.

I was all for we must strengthen our full backs first and foremost and willing to blow the majority on those positions, however seeing the CM field players we're linked to is a massive rethink. I would happily go with Ndombele Lo Celso and really don't mind Rose Davies Aurier KWP at full back next season.

Going to be a long process if we improve one position every 2 years.

We can afford to look at both areas - why skimp when we're swimming in CL cash + player sales?

Yep, definitely need to do both. If we get a forward in too then we're pretty well set apart from another experienced CB if Toby goes

Thought the couple of bits of play I saw from Semedo in this evening's game against switzerland he looked fairly decent.

Anyone see the whole game (and form an opinion)?

Saw some of it and thought he did pretty well. Wanted him before we tried for Pereira and ended up with Aurier but Barca nabbed him. I think he'll be less than half the price of Wan Bissaka which would enable us to upgrade elsewhere. Not sure what to expect with Sessegnon though, especially if we were to sign both brothers since the other one is a RB. Can't imagine he's near EPL quality tbh. Semedo would do for me though.

Looks like Steven Sessegnon has had barely any senior caps; a couple of cup games and that's it.

If he came in, he'd probably go straight out on loan to be honest.

why would we be buying both? Do they come as a package?
