Asked my mate about this guy last night , and he said he had never heard of him.

However he did say.......

"A lot of the top scouts are very friendly with each other, as they spend a lot of time watching the same teams etc.all they do is talk players and football."

Just because the teams he's been working for haven't signed any hidden gems, that doesn't mean he hasn't been tipping Hitchen off regarding players he's watched that are out of his clubs reach.

It looks like we have another new scout.

@scoutsattending
4x #thfc scouts at #U21EURO starting on Fri...ex #mufc scout Peter Braund now working for Spurs

Peter Braud was Man Utd's scout in Germany.

If you're willing to overlook Defoe's brief excursion to Canada then...

Fulop
Chimbonda, Dawson, Kaboul, Tainio
Livermore, Huddlestone, Mason
Malbranque
Bent, Defoe

the thing i never really ever understand is, why the fuck would you need a scout for a premier league player, with the amount of coverage on tv we get, every player should be known to an opposing manager

This day and age scouting isn't just about what you do on the pitch that matters, it goes from how you kick a ball to how and where you take your morning dumps. Both are just as important. As much as Poch will be very aware of how the likes of Barkley will play, he won't have the time to stalk him round to the supermarket to find out if he prefers Cushelle or Andrex.

Interesting that that scout list has Ian Broomfield listed as scouting for us still and one bloke listed twice.

Perhaps Broomfield is consulting for us still or the list may be inaccurate.

Good point, I was under the impression it was a list of scouts who had registered to be at the competition but I could be wrong.

Found this awesome quote by one of Ian Bloomfields mates on Janssen. Probably just the way he worded it, but hardly screams sign him up and almost sounds like a dig at us.

"They will still be getting to know him as a player but the man who was behind bringing him to the club was Ian Broomfield, who I speak to quite a lot,” said Gray. “He does a lot of the dealings at Tottenham. I asked him what he was like and he said he is not fantastic at anything, he is not the quickest, he is not the strongest, he is not the best in the air, but his all-round game is fitted to the way Tottenham play.”

That sounds like a description of Chadli.

Well....his all around game didn't quite fit for us in the end, but basically everything else fits.

Watching on tv is not the same as watching live. You don't see everything on tv particularly what happens off the ball. Scouts will go to the games and keep a more careful eye on that particular player and not just follow where the immediate action is.
