I think the club should be embarrassed that their core fans can't even see an official picture, but plastics the world over can buy it, officially, it totally legit shops.

Plastics? Bit disrespectful, if they support spurs and buy the kit they are a fan and thats all that matters. Going on european away games you meet the new york spurs fans who have travelled thousands of miles to watch us play, are they plastic?

Will be getting the away or third kit then. Absolute wank that home shirt is. Can't believe people got paid to come up with such a horrific design. I could do a better job. It's embarrassing
Is it so hard just to stick to white with navy trim ? Why let someone on acid loose to mess the design up. Looks hideous.

I don't know why but this thread is endlessly fascinating to me, I haven't bought or really cared about a football shirt since i was about 14 but i cant stop coming back to it. There's 141 pages and nearly 3k posts but its literally been the same 3 opinions repeated over and over again, it's like a Stewart Lee joke or an Escher painting represented in words.

Well they don't support their local team so yeah.

So what you're all saying, is it's ok to slag United and Chelsea fans off for supporting a club nowhere near them, but it's fine if they support us from thousands if miles away.

Not hypocrites at all...

The difference is many supported united and Chelsea because they were winning, which is a plastic fan. Supporting Tottenham isn't for the glory (yet) or guaranteed cups/leagues.

And it doesn't change the fact the club should be embarrassed that the nearest and most dedicated fans haven't even been shown a picture of this kit.

Being closest doesn't make them most dedicated. Also no official picture of the kits have come out for people in other countries and most only go by the online photos also.

*Most of the overseas Spurs fans have been supporting us for all of 3 years.

*most = not all.
Bollocks. I've supported Spurs all my life from Ireland. My dad did before me and my son does too. I sat and watched the England game on holiday with English fans of their local teams ie. Manchester. Two of them still thought Trippier played for Man City. Where you're from has nothing to do with the type of fan you are. Very patronising attitude.

So am I right in thinking that people think it's fine that the "home" fans have been denied even a picture of a shirt but overseas fans can freely buy them?

I must have been transported in to some kind of alternative multiverse.

These New Yorkers have a choice between a Man City franchise and Energy Drink FC that play in the next state. I certainly don't begrudge them choosing a proper club instead.
I had the absolute pleasure to have a few pints with a couple of the New York supporters watching the world cup in Flannerys bar (nr Greenwich Village NYC). Some of the most knowledgeable and passionate football fans I have come across. It made me feel privileged to be a season ticket holder, where as the guys I was speaking to will only get to see our club during the odd US friendly but mainly on tv only. Yes some of them are as Matt says "new fans" but they spend as much money and emotion in supporting THFC.

The launch of the new kit was always going to coincide with the opening of the new shop. And if it’s 6 weeks before the season or 2 or 3 weeks who really cares. What difference does it make not like there will be a mad rush and they will sell out. The sales on the home shirt will be poor cause it’s just not very nice. Remarkable that 14 yr old kids on twitter can come up with a better design. How anyone can even think of this design is beyond me.

I watched Chelsea win the European Cup there. A look around the place as the penalties finished gave you no doubt that they were proper Spurs fans. The plastic fans were all the rickshaw drivers outside when we left who thought a good way of getting business was to wear Chelsea tops.

We walked back to the hotel.
