The 'Mr Miyagi' shirt.Short memory then, here I'll remind you:
I don't mind the home kit now looks ok not as bad as I originally thought.
Home shirt was nice although the collar was a bit flappy due to using the wrong type of material. These were horrible kits as well.
As much as I don't like the idea of us having a 'heritage' sash, after seeing the players wearing it I actually thought how much better it would look with white shorts and socks.
Maybe it's just that I don't like us wearing all white, but I think that would really enhance the "skidmark" appearance.
I don't like us wearing all white, and I don't like the skidmark either, but if we're going to completely change the design of our home kit we might as well go the whole hog. It would certainly make us stand out against the other teams in the Prem.
Purely curious here, not criticizing, but how would you compare this one within the context of a true "Spurs kit" to this year's home? Or last year's? Do you feel this one is yet further of a deviation?
You think we'll be back to normal in a year?Didn't like this year's kit because it looked a bit 'cartoony' but it was still within the context of a 'true Spurs kit' in the sense that it was white with blue shorts.
There are several teams around the world that are identifiable by their diagonal stripe, so I think the inclusion of one on a traditionally plain Spurs shirt is more than just a supplementary design - it's breaking with the tradition of a plain shirt. I don't consider yellow, navy, or silver trimming to be an encroachment on the 'plain' design.
The new shirt clearly isn't plain, just as our 2005-6 shirt wasn't plain. In that sense it's a deviation, whereas any kit that is predominantly plain white with blue shorts could be called a 'true' Spurs kit - just with different gradients of quality.
In all honesty it doesn't bother me greatly. It's not as if I'm banging the walls whilst howling at our break with tradition! I'm sure in a year from now we'll be back to a more normal-looking kit, but I do think the 'heritage sash' is an unusual choice that I don't like.
You think we'll be back to normal in a year?
2016-17 is UA's last season as part of the kit deal and ITK suggests Nike will be next. They'll probably want to go out with a bang, so the kit will probably be the strangest yet.
I really hope not with their boring templates that they put every team in. For me going with Nike is a step backwards in kit design. You think we'll be back to normal in a year?

Am I alone in being not particularly fond of the fact that the club's historic true navy has been abandoned by UA for navy almost indiscernible from black?
Maybe you need adjust your monitor settings? The blue isn't much different to that of our previous kits, so you might have your brightness a little too low.
Would like to see a photoshop of the new kit with white shorts If someone has the skills.
