Naybet as defensive coach would be fantastic. At last someone who could teach the players to defend as a unit and help improve their truly woeful decision-making. Plus as an influential former Spur, Naybet should have mucho respect from our players.

Poyet could be a clever move if Ramos is coming in AND he has chosen Gus - the guy has bags of Prem experience, is respected at the Lane and has the fluent Spanish to help Ramos where his English isn't good enough.

He and Wise are doing something right at Leeds too....

5 trophies in 2 seasons to be accurate.

Without getting a Mourihno, Lippi, Riijkaard, Capello, Fergusson, Ramos is about as good as we can get. He's easily one of the highest regarded emerging managers out there. Unproven in the Prem granted, but everyone's gotta start somewhere.

Something had to give. One win out of ten is ludicrous. Of course it's the players fault... but it's up to the manager to get them playing. I'm excited about this fresh start, a fresh take on our team, opportunity for a fresh style, and a chance to iron out our problems - defending set pieces, getting/moulding MF marshall etc.

Stressful times, but exciting nonetheless.

Gus is saying it is all news to him. I wonder if we really do have anyone lined up...

Am I the only one to suspect that the rumours preceded the actual sacking and that Jol did not get the bullet until after the match? With rumours spreading like wildfire during the game, high emotion on all sides and Spurs losing, the Board might simply thought "f@ck it, if we are going to sack him then now is the time to do it."

Good news indeed. Would be good to get it sorted as soon as possible. Would be unprecedented good sense from the board aswell.

Ramos has just said on Spanish radio words to the effect of

"In professional life, sometimes you are presented with an oppurtunity that you have to take".
