I like how people want new owners. Who the fuck is going to buy us? Nobody bought Newcastle, which has a bigger stadium, is a one club town and has a good fan base. And they are cheaper than we are.
Surely a club that is a top six club and just had a major run in the CL is somewhat better than Newcastle were when they were on sale.

Anyone can see that.

The oil barons don't want us. We're too expensive. So until you can find some oil baron willing to buy us, then stop the bullshit.
Too expensive? Seriously? To a multi-billionaire we are too expesive? According to so called experts we have a present market value of just under £300m. Even if you double this and thown on an extra £700 we are certainly within the purchase and investment realms of the kind of billionaires that bought Chelsea and City.
Our one and only chance at this was RA, who Levy said no to. Don't know if that is a good or bad thing.
Who or what is RA?

we have a billionaire owner, his name is Joe.
I often read this, but the reality is that Lewis has a third of the wealth of even Abramovich and doesn't even come close to Sheikh Mansour's $1trillion.

Furthermore, Lewis does not own us. He owns Tavistock Group, one of our main investors. Tavistock Group invests in close to 200 hundred companies, of which we are one. That means we do not get masses of his £3.2billion fortune.

So, while you might think your "we already have a billionaire owner" post is a clever riposte, the reality is that it is disingenuous.

Levy has been great for us......but i am so confused as to why having CL to offer he didn't go out and get a really top forward, now we are going to pay for it with the likes of Luka fucking off because we finished 5th in a poor prem season that we could have even won.
Don't get me wrong, this post is not a 'Levy out' cry, i think he has been superb, but between himself and Harry, by not addressing our weakness we have gone backwards and will have to deal with the likes of luka being taken from us.

What Levy must not do is waste the whole summer haggling with chelsea and then have no time to strengthen our team, if Luka wants out sell him for 45m and get some players in who want to play for our club, but lets not wait to the final day and start panicking.

You are correct, Joe owns the Tavistock Group, the Tavistock Group controls ENIC, ENIC owns 84% of Spurs, therefore Joe owns the majority share of the club, therefore owns the club and is worth 3.2 Billion.

Ergo, we have an owner called Joe who is a Billionaire, thank you for confirming what I said.

Aaaaaaah, so there was no intended implication in your post that we don't need a billionaire investor because we already have one. You just thought you'd state the "fact" that he's a billionaire for no reason at all, thus the rest of my post has no relevance.

Got it.

We don't need a Billionaire investor, I prefer the fact that unlike most top clubs we don't run up extensive losses and that we don't spend than we earn. If that means we come 5th instead of 1st then I can accept that, I'd rather have that than some Oil King spend Billions ala City or Chelsea. I'd rather our success be organic than overnight cheque brought.

Oh and nothing you ever say has any relevance.

thanks. So I've been reading up on this and it seems that Levy is really focusing on NPD now.

Well, let's hope that is the case, then.

my chelsea mate said to me today, the problem with spurs is that they dont evolve...they need a sheik or a russian billionaire to compete!

how sad it is that his club, bought for £1 in the 1980`s is now the "stereotype" for success in the prem!

w*ankers!

Stupid Chav <CENSOR EVASION>. Inheriting a huge maount of money overnight and splurging it is clearly not evolving. Building the club slowly, but steadily, via organic growth, not spending above your means and building a team of time, is evolving. Only a stupid chav coudl get the two confused.

Honestly I think we need a tycoon to ever challenge Levys done brill but his way isn't going to work in modern day football it's like F1 a millionaires playground!

Agr...honestly...sometimes it's like you are having a private argument with yourselfEek

But it is funny:grin:

Football these days is not an investment, infact it's the complete opposite. ENIC are looking for a return on investment, which other than selling the club for a sum greater than for what they paid including the cover of debt is their only option.

Abramovich is bank rolling Chelsea for no return on his investment other than success on the pitch. This so far has cost him £1bn

I think Levy will be around for another 5-10 years.

For some reason I've always thought Philip Green will be our next owner after that.

think our next owner will come from the super rich set arab/ruskie even chinese and will treat us as a toy - there is no way anybody would buy us for pure investment reasons

Was just discussing the financial fair play rules at work with a a young sports lawyer who is going to get a lot of work out of clubs amongst is clients trying to stick to them, they're taking it very seriously. Even if we brought in a billionaire now, chances are that before too long he'd not be able to do us much good anyway.

Who is Philip Green? I wouldn't know as I'm in Canada.

A billionaire London Jewish businessman and a big Spurs fan. Most well known for owning the departmental chain store BHS.

He has always been on the fringes of the club, right back to the Scholar days. Also mates with Levy, Sugar and Kemsley etc.
