were not in debt we spend money every transfer-window we have a new world class training ground coming next year, were planning on building a new stadium, and he has made us in too a top club again, and we seen to always be making a profit every year despite only having a 36.000 stadium, and he's a spurs fan, world class chairman IMO

i don't mind having a billionaire benefactor who uses us as his play thing. you see when you are this rich f#ck you have pride and you want to win after all that is how you became rich in the first place (pride and business savvy of course). that pride and business savvy translates into the new toy (football club).

i look at Chelsea all these years later and yes i would want their success that has been achieved under Abramhovic (sp). i look at what City has achieved in 3 short years (an FA cup and Cl qualification) under Sheik Monsour. it took Levy and Co 10years to get us into the Cl. we have also spent millions and recouped millions but it took us longer.

i guess where i am coming from is i would rather it be us than it be newcastle, everton, villa etc. these are the last clubs with prestige who are yet to be owned by some super rich benefactor.

i would take a super rich benefactor with Levy at the helm every day of the week. i always see the line ( no thank you to a rich benefactor who will use as as his toy thing and then walk away when he is tied) please show me which one has ????

The next pressing step is a new stadium. Financially we can compete we just need to hold our ground when teams come calling....there will be times when the money and time is right for Spurs but on this occasion with Modric it will be a crime. We are close enough to challenge the teams around us with new/correct signings good management we can punch above our weight we hopefully the sight of a new stadium in the near distance.

no but i do know that i am entitled to an opinion:whistle:. i too like the fact that we are well run self supporting business, however that will not be enough when the likes of Villa or Newcastle are bought by a super rich benefactor. i am not talking the randy lerner or joe lewis type with a few quid (billions) i am talking abramhovic type wealth.

the fact that they are born wealthy is beside the point. if they can invest their billions in spurs and it be run by Levy then i am all for it. another poster mentioned a large stadium and that too will help us compete.

note no insults in my reply and that is pretty good for a tool. i wish i was smart too.

get nothing for being a nice guy unfortunately.

We can be mediocre and self supporting, watch the super rich clubs clean up all the young supporters and before you know it we are the next Wolves or Sunderland.

Bank balances run football now. We need to bring in someone that will enable us to compete.

Double the size of our stadium and we will compete people seem to forget that Manchester United have a 70k ground that's potentially twice our revenue, Arsenal's ground brings in about twice our revenue.
With that in place I have absolutely no doubt that our owners are the right ones.

Like I've said before I really do not want my club to be in hands of someone like Abramovich or other Suggar Daddies. We are one of the best run clubs financially in the world and Levy has done and is doing a good job. Of course we can't compete financially with the "Suggar Daddy clubs", but in the long run I really believe our way is the right way.

I believe (and I really hope) that the end of the insane spending of the "Suggar Daddy clubs" will be seen in the next 5 years or so...

Hypothetical question:

We are estimated to be £300m short on the NDP costs at the moment (note - NDP, not NPD  ).

What would your reaction be if Levy was to sell, say, Bale, Modric and VDV, for a combined £100m, and then the money was used to finance the building of a top class new stadium in Tottenham?

Would the temporary shame/hate/anger be appeased due to the massive long-term benefits? Or would Levy never be forgiven for selling our best players no matter what long-term good came of it?

Well, let's hope that is the case, then.

Stupid Chav <CENSOR EVASION>. Inheriting a huge maount of money overnight and splurging it is clearly not evolving. Building the club slowly, but steadily, via organic growth, not spending above your means and building a team of time, is evolving. Only a stupid chav coudl get the two confused.

Agr...honestly...sometimes it's like you are having a private argument with yourselfEek

But it is funny:grin:

I'd personally see it as a huge step backwards as it is pointless building a new huge stadium if we cant keep the kind of players who would fill it. It wouldn't change my opinion of Levy too much apart from maybe making me question his shorter term ambitions

At least Levy hasn't done a Liverpool with the stadium...telling everyone who would listen about it, showing off scaled down models, and stating that the finances were in place, just for nothing to happen...:eh::shifty:

I would sell all 3 tomorrow if doing so would guarantee us moving into a new stadium within 5 years.

I love the fact that we are the biggest club in the country with English owners. Man u, city, arsenal, liverpool etc are just foreign owned clubs that happen to play in England.

I'm 50 and went through the Scholar years, and let me tell you Levy is the best chairman we have ever had. We are lucky to have him, he runs the club along sustainable lines and is always looking at our long term future.

I was very much pro moving to Stratford as it would have put us in a different league financially, our revenue streams would have gone through the roof.

Modern football with its sugar daddies has ruined football for me, it ceased being a competition years ago. We need a 60,000 plus stadium sooner rather than later to continue our sustainable model, its obvious that staying in Tottenham attracts far less funding and sponsorship.

I am quite surprised DL has not sold out by now. He is not in it for the love of Spurs but to make a return on investment. Fortunately, up to now, success on the pitch has equated to financial success. Our value must have peaked and we require significant further investment to be able to develop and increase value any moire (by properly breaking into the top 4 on a regular basis).
I hate the idea of being owned by an Abramovich type but I hate the idea of being a bit player even more.

Well Levy is a Tottenham fan and a very rich one at that so who really knows what his intentions really are. Maybe he genuinely enjoys his work at Tottenham. Roman tried to buy us first didn't he and they didn't sell for whatever reason.

If Levy can find a way of getting us into a new stadium that will not financially stretch us, I think we will have a team that will be able to attract and afford the best players in the world, and be the best run club in the premiership by a British owner.
