Don't want to derail this thread but you are wrong on the definition of 'entryist'. You should quit the Labour party and join the Greens.

The word was in quote marks because I was referring to the way it has been used against the Labour left, not because that's what it actually means. It's an accusation that has been used hundreds of times since Corbyn started his leadership campaign. It's not strictly the right use of the word. Hence the quote marks.

This is where an element of self awareness might be necessary (no offence intended) If you think that Labour should not be aiming for a parliamentary majority then it says a lot about you and not about the Labour party. Labour have always been centre left and not hard left (which is where I think you actually are, but not where you think that you are).

I'm 100% "hard left". I don't join loony, feuding splinter groups with silly names, but my politics are extreme left. Because evidence.

I think Labour should of course be "aiming for" a Parliamentary majority, but psephological and demographic factors make it extremely difficult for them to achieve that. There is a major "eggs in one basket" issue over this and a minority of Labour members would really like the party to reach out across the broad spectrum of the left, to keep the Tories out of government. Including me. But including no one in the loony, feuding splinter groups. They don't do compromise, nor pragmatism.

'Entryist' is not a 'term' 'coined' to denigrate anyone. It is a simple matter of fact term to indicate those that are not part of the 'natural' position of the labour movement that have joined to move the Labour party to the left. It defines those that were previously part of the 'militant' movement and now 'momentum' who are more aligned with the SWP and the Communist Party and have 'joined' the Labour party with the intention of moving them further left.

That's consistent with what I wrote - and why I put the word in quote marks. The press and the Tories keep accusing Momentum of being entryists. My whole point was that it's bunk. I'll agree with you that "coined" was the wrong word.

I don't wish to derail this thread further than it has already so I will not comment further on this here despite the fact that there is lots to be said for what you have written here. I just didn't want you to think that I had left this uncommented upon.

Best left for another day.

Nike’s LDNR branding all over Wembley today. Carefully tying themselves to London. Could really do with a venue.

It's a new campaign, they don't need a venue for the same reason they don't need to sponsor the World Cup.

Am very excited for new stadium but looking at those photos just highlights to me how little space there is around the stadium in comparison to Wembley. I can see it being a bit of a nightmare getting to games next year, not to mention the queue at the kebab shops.

White Hart Lane was a Stadium on the High Road, part of the community. Rather it still was than on some industrial Estate somewhere or worse still, in the middle of a shopping complex. We’ll all get in, there’s a bit of space either end with the square and whatnot. Real action happens inside.

It would appear a lot of the exec boxes are further on than I’d expected, glass in place, I’d imagine the internal fit is quite advanced

I'm still fairly underwhelmed by the 'grand entrance' to the West Stand. Looks like a random add-on to me that doesn't fit with the building.

Wait till its finished and all that though, I guess.....

when are the two tower cranes supposed to come out, i would of thought the roof can't be raised until this is done ...

According to ImperialAero on SSC, the roof extensions in red, do not have to be lifted until much later when the rest of the roof has completed and the cranes in the NW and NE corners (orange) have been removed.

I agree, it's a bit better than the initial design, but still not great at all.
