This pretty much answers all of your questions...
Thanks for posting it. It almost does.......

If the area surrounding the pitch is raised up from the base level to the grass pitch level then is it grass or artificial turf? If grass it will take a pounding from the NFL and other events and look like shit compared to the rest of the grass; or if it's turf then it won't take the same kind of stud as grass and could theoretically be dangerous for the players.

Any idea?

It'll be artificial, if you look, most football pitches have artificial around them. Stops touch lines at getting chewed up by linesman/subs etc. It'll be suitably soft that it won't cause issue.

Apologies if it's been discussed but how soon after Levy's end of season message was published did they change the line to "We shall ask for your support in attending the two test events we shall run in advance of the formal opening." from specifically mentioning August?

This is the clever little trick that Dan is going to use that Edmonton was alluding to if needed. The ability to bend time.

Good to see you round again.

Thanks, Hoops (y)

I haven't not been around, though. I've just been extremely busy with work, but have popped into the joke thread each day before and after work. You'd be amazed just how enjoyable games can be when you step away from the constant judging and dismantling of performances that occurs from all the experts that reside on here & Twitter etc.

mnemonic111 on coys: Just been told Mace hand over the keys first week August, two test events in August one with 20000 fans second with 40000.
First home game after International break.
This comes from the club itself so they might be telling me what I want to hear ! Hope its correct.

They'll be doing well to do this, I've been involved in fairly large construction projects in the past & I was speaking to someone who still is at the w/e & we both agreed there is still a heck of a lot of work to do. They can obviously throw lots of people at it, but we both reckoned there was still something like 4 to 6 months work based on the latest photos.

I met someone yesterday at a birthday party who isn’t employed by the club but is close to DL. I’m not going to explain how he is close but I’m happy to tell the mods who he is and they will understand how he knows what he does. I asked about the new stadium and he told me it would be fantastic but late. Nothing earth shattering but not in line with the above.

The post you quoted said it wont be ready till after the international break which is late. Are you saying it will be later?

Won’t be ready for the start of the season and apparently struggling to meet the target of only playing the first 3 home games away. I think there is mileage in the notion we are speaking to the league to see if we can use Wembley again for some period (that is me reading between the lines of what I was told).

I would guess there are fewer than 10 people in the world who know where we are with a projected completion date on the stadium - and its not the kind of discussion that would take place outside the club - other than to the NFL and FA.

If we are going to have two test events in august more than 10 people will have to know about it.

Having worked on the site I would be surprised if mace could physically hand over the keys without dropping them down the nearest drain tbh.

I'm still vague on what they mean by complete, does that mean everything done and dusted or complete enough to hold a football match, a pitch, a roof, floodlights and enough seats and turnstyles, what else do you need?
If there is likely to be a delay at the south stand for example, would it not be possible to play with a reduced gate and any Park Lane ST holders could be seated elsewhere until the that end was ready. As an idea it seems far far prefereable to schlepping over to Wembley again and having to ask Richard bastard Scudamore for anything.

Really can't see Levy not wanting a grand opening with an unfinished stadium.

plus it most probably needs to be complete in most things to pass safety.
