Chris: and how will you feel about turning up v Liverpool?

Chris: well dondo what you reckon of the stadium?
coys200: oh it's great Chris it's going to be great when it's ready, just hope I don't have a ticket in the back row of section 519
Chris: why?
coys200: I won't be able to see the south stand because the screens block it off

Chances of the test event which is due for 18/19th of August actually having the Fulham game on the screens? Thought it was interesting that its pencilled in for either the 18/19th maybe leeway if the game is on TV. Also fits with the talk about Levy having something great/level planned if it were to be delayed.

Also fits his MO. Why not have one stadium open when you can have two?

guarantee Sky will fuck us over if that's the reason for the dates of test events, que 4 Monday night live matches:whistle:

Nah, not if some of the experts in here had been in control of the project, rather than the clueless fuckers who have almost entirely built a complete, world class, state of the art stadium in not much over a year.

when I build my lego version, I'm going to leave the screens out on the north stand.

Some of you are so anal it even makes my butt hurt.

Why the hell would they set the dates if they didn't think they were on plan?

I've got no doubt there'll be some finishing happening through to the winter, but as for holding matches looks like there ain't that much to do in the grand scheme of things. Don't forget the EAST side is destined to be NFL focused which I can only presume is why it's looking a like there's a lot more work to do.

Will it be finished? No.

Will it be ready for Football Matches? Yes.

FYP(y)

agree with everything else.

I’d welcome that. With the greatest respect, and appreciation of your motives, I’d rather rely on updates from official sources.
That's perfectly understandable, just make sure you take it with that proverbial pinch of salt.
Word and pictures from the club will always accentuate the positive which is not a bad thing, but sometimes the truth is not always as perfect.

Careful @dondo, don't answer that or some of these blokes will be at your throat analysing how you can express an opinion given that you are only working on... (insert task here)!

I appreciate your contributions - there is obviously still a shit tonne of work to be done, keep at it mate.

I’m a electrician
if you are one of those earning £400 a day get your bloody finger out and finish the project ......

when i went round the amount of internals still to do was staggering, and there were an awful lot of people on site but not much work being done

We not on £400 a day ? I wish.
Lots of new workers starting everyday and it’s a hard job for the supervisors to organise the work and materials for so many guys, hence there is a fair amount of waiting around.
More bodies on site doesn’t always speed things up

It tends to be less efficient per body but overall you still tend to get more done.

Hey @coys200 are you coys500 on SSC?

That guy has started the exact same argument in the exact same tone as in over here. Don't be a contrarian for the sake of trolling.

Interesting picture.
You can see the 3 rails (for the centre tray) clearly on the black surface, and they do not line up with any of the white tram lines marked out on the grey underlay. In fact the white lines are marked out to align a wide strip of unmarked underlay for each rail. And if the lines roughly mark out the edges of a roll of carpet, which often seems to be the case, then the rails are not near a carpet edge, which is odd.

So either the strips they remove to reveal the rails are wide, or for some reason they want to cut a narrow strip of carpet for the rails once it has all been laid out. Or maybe cut just one slit, and fold it over.

Frustratingly the pictures probably shows what they intend, as there are 2 dark bands on the carpet where 2 of the rails run. It is too dark to be exposed underlay or rail channel - it looks to be a something actually on top of the carpet. They were not there a day or 2 ago, that's for sure. Perhaps it is obvious what they are, but I don't get it.

Maybe it's my eyesight, but the rails for the soccer pitch trays seem to be elevated from the US football pitch. I wonder if the rails are on pistons so that, once any movement of the soccer pitch is completed, the rails lower, thereby enabling a standard thickness of NFL plastic grass.

Anyone?
