The only realistic options now for city are stadium ready or Wembley postponement. A 3rd venue would definitely bring integrity of league into question as it would be a totally neutral venue. Anyone know 1st available Wembley date as November/December usually very congested. Hasn’t AJ got a fight as well which will screw the pitch.

Well, according to this that I got via a notification I got on an app on my phone, Twickenham have rejected us, too. It appears to come via The Mail, but doesn't make for very reassuring reading..

A lot of people seem to assume that the PL and UEFA would be out to get us if we find it difficult to sort out this or other fixtures. Citing bans, points deductions etc.

Personally I feel that all parties will be as flexible as possible in these circumstances. After all in the future other clubs may be forced to do similar.

If there really is no option then a change of date slightly? Or Milton Keynes/Portman Road or another solution.

After all Surs shouldn’t be punished for something maybe out of their control, for being ambitious and for hopefully creating the best and most up to date stadium in the PL.

Bad news is good news for the rags after all.

Up until the end of last week the build was basically on schedule..

This isn't true. I spent a couple of hours with someone at the end of July who is as close as you can possibly be to this. As in they speak to DL every day. They told me at that point the stadium was 'miles' behind and they had just completed phase 2 of a total of 7 phases. At that time, the build was supposed to be completing phase 5.The Liverpool game at that stage was 'possible but would take a miracle'.

I'm not disputing the legitimacy of the fire safety failure, but that would've been the straw that broke the camel's back. The entire thing is way behind.

That article is such a mixture of a tiny bit of accurate contractual information and a huge amount of speculation and outright bullshit that I scarcely know where to start. So just a few points...

It conflates the unfinished cladding with the safety issues that have prevented the stadium from opening. That on its own indicates that it's either malicious or clueless.

The details of Mace's liquidated damages (not "penalties", as they are illegal) are stated as fact and then supported by quotes that are obviously wild guesses by people with zero inside knowledge of the contract.

And so on. If you want a clear idea of what has happened, read the post originally written by hertyid above. It makes sense and is consistent with everything else that has been happening over the past few weeks. This is exactly what it seems: a last-minute safety crisis upending a project that was otherwise under control.

This is a familiar situation to anyone who has worked on large developments. You corral everything into place and then one thing rears up at the last minute and fucks everything else up. It's virtually a cliché of development. The Law of Sod.

Could the fixture be reversed?
And, if not, postponed.
Apologies if already covered.

If you're talking about Man City. I believe they've already stated that they don't want to reverse the fixture, because it will mean they have to play their final 3 games away from home.

If I can walk in take a seat see the game in twilight have a slash and leave after the game then I'm happy and as far as I'm concerned the stadium is ready, nothing else matters, not food nor drink nor giant screens and if that isn't possible in certain areas then close those areas off until it is.
Does anyone know what a fire alarm sounds like at the Spurs ground? No me neither and I've been going for over fifty years, never been necessary and in a concrete stadium I'm still not sure what there is to burn.
I know this is the twentyfirst century and nobody can do fuck all without a bit of paper saying they can but I don't have to agree with it.
Other than that I suppose we can hope for a hard winter starting in mid October and multiple postponements.

Edit: I don't even care about a seat.

Charlton are away that weekend. They have a history of ground swapping/sharing. We will fulfill the fixture if needed. It might not maximise revenue, but somehow it will be achieved. There is a whole list of possibles - some more likely than others.

I do though think there is a possibility of playing it in the new ground. The City game was reassurance I believe.

I understand the sentiment and humour in your post. (y)

I truly have no Idea as to why the fire safety systems have failed. I could be that they're simply not finished or as what has been pointed out, wrong coloured cables. It could be sub standard materials, a software problem....honestly, without definite, verified information, we are all in the dark.
Oh shit they haven't fitted the lights yet, another 2 month delay

Why can't the match just be rescheduled at Wembley the first midweek we have free and available for both teams if thats possible.. I haven't got the energy to check if there is a spare date in nov or dec midweek.

because City wouldn't want a midweek game esp with such magnitude and for all the other reasons you can think off

The credit for Liverpool & Cardiff, plus the surplus for the Fulham game was all in my ticketing account this morning and easy to withdraw, at least they got that part right.
