Let's say all the cabling is wrong - and I agree it sounds preposterously far fetched and barely believable that from the number of people required to fit it, nobody would've noticed that everyone had the wrong cables - how long can it realistically take to rewire it?
Assuming it's all in traywork, the majority should be simple & fairly quick, just a lot of labour involved as they will have to rewire the loop, test the cabling, & then connect each device on the loop, then move onto the next loop. The unknown is how much they'll have to disrupt to access the cables, ie cutting through ceilings, drilling through things that need to be resealed after etc.

As I don't know the building well enough there's no way I could say exactly how long it'd take, but it'll take significantly less time than a similarly sized building due to there being a massive space in the centre, & lots of wide open concourses which reduces the number of detectors required overall (assuming they've fitted point smoke detection in these areas).

It's a relief to hear some people in our industry still know what they're talking about.

I was wondering about this wire/cabling issue the other day and thought it might have something to do with the new CPR guidelines that came in to effect in May. Maybe a certain grade of cable was specified but some the wrong type was installed. (CPR for those who don't know looks at the fire characteristics of the cable, it terms of the cable sheath and how it reacts and how quick it burns in a fire etc etc).

...probably nothing to do with that though o_O

I think it’s quite nice PR actually, only a heartless blowhard would think this was out of order. Your analogy above is completely irrelevant. The new stadium is a multi million pound project, for a multi million pound business. It’s not some lacky in an office creating a report about cheese sales. There are literally hundreds of people working on it.

They aren’t “pissing about at work” they are doing what PR departments do, engaging with fans in a positive way and creating fluffy pieces to stick on Twitter.

God forbid the club do something nice for someone that was affected by the stadium delay, the bastards. Ledley needs a good talking too aswell, how dare he smile at such an awful time for the club like this. Bastard.

Find it incredible myself, complete and utter ignorance/negligence by everyone involved.

When I got originally told the info and not bragging but was the first to give that info on here. The fella who told me did say it was either shocking shocking workman but he couldn’t believe that in a million years. Or it was what he though and had been told that it was sabotage by Arsenal and Westham workmen when they had left the site. I didn’t say that at the time for fear of ridicule but that is what he heard direct from the site but club and everyone etc trying to keep that quiet for obvious reasons

Agree with all of this, its basic, industry standard stuff that qualified people will spot a mile off.
To me it all points towards unqualified people doing the work.

or Chelsea, Arsenal, Spam or even Liverpool fans doing the job:cautious:

If that’s true then wow, that is absolutely childish and hilariously pathetic from those workmen.

It’s one thing to do things like bury your teams scarf in the foundations of the stadium etc, but to do something that could sabotage the careers and livelihood of many people, as well as potentially jeapordising the safety of a crowded, family friendly building, is sociopathic at the very least.

Surely the club has massive penalty clauses with contractors doing work on the stadium in the case of this kind of negligence?

Don't believe it for a second. That would require such a conspiricy and not just at the bottom rung of the ladder. Foremen etc. would have to be in on it.

Cuts in all the wires apparently. I’m sure they knew it would have to be tested and not going to potentially murder people just do what they have, put us back weeks and weeks and at a cost

Really hope the problems get sorted soon.

The whole club needs a massive injection of positivity at the moment and moving into our new home is just what the club needs.

well surely they have a log of what each workman was doing - when they identify the individual faults identify the workers involved - and then call in the Spanish Inquisition

"Was at a meeting tonight at Lilywhite House where MACE announced that the pitch will be laid in October. THFC are clear that they will not announce new dates for test events until they are 100% sure they can make those dates".

[If this were true] - and I can just about see how funny a couple of chelsea fans would find this - then it would explain why the whole lot had to come out. They could have done anything with the cabling.
Given the systems targetted and the number of lives on the line, I would class this as terrorism.
You just can't have people going around cutting fire wires, however sure they were that the all damage would get discovered. Lock 'em up, and throw away the keys.[/If this were true]
