Because i'm a grown man. I save my outrage for idiots shooting up mosques.
Alright I'll accept outraged is too strong a word.

But it's still a completely unfathomable decision, even if they show the opening ceremony beforehand.

I don't follow?

This game was scheduled for TV, so it should be broadcast even when it was moved. Period.

And, aside from that, it's the opening of a new stadium for fuck's sake. A once in a lifetime event that has been discarded in favour of a boring Man City stroll in the park. A Title race happens every season, a side opening a new stadium does not.

It's a despicable decision.

so was the Man C v Cardiff game that's on now, only difference being our fixture was due Saturday just gone, and City's was the Saturday 6th. To sky a club opening a new stadium isn't as important compared to a team fighting for the title.

don't think Arsenal's opening game was even on the box

The city game was already scheduled to be on tv. The pl moved our game because of fa cup clash. Sky didn't have much of a choice. It's not like everyone new for 6 months this was going to be the date of our opening. It's disappointing but they will show the stadium on tv before the city game and talk about it. It will be all over the news. And there are other ways to watch the game.
Sky have every choice. I work for a station that holds the PL rights in my country, I know how this works.

I mean, it's possible that we'll be able to show the game instead of the City one anyway, we'd laid some pretty big plans for it and to have the plug pulled on us like that would be awful. But that's up for the PL to decide should we make a pitch to them, which we will.

But I'm still gutted that Sky have put us in this position, and denied all UK Spurs fans who can't go to the game the opportunity to watch a historic event.

I suspect something has gone between City and sky re the Cardiff match. I’m pretty sure that was their game this weekend and a date hadn’t been set for it. However if they didn’t play it on the 3rd there’s a chance Liverpool could have gone 5 pts clear with 2 games in hand and made the title race a bit messy. Likely Sky said to city listen can you play Cardiff ASAP so we can keep the title race aligned. Something along those lines has happened.

they were due on the 6th originally due to KO at 12:30

edit: they where due to play Man U last weekend, but that was scheduled for the midweek we play Brighton ages ago, and like us due to CL there wasn't a lot of week days available

Which is bullshit prioritising of the absolute highest order of bullshitness. Title challenges are annual events, stadium openings are historic.

Clueless fucks.

Yes you're right in that they had to play it on the 3rd to not mess up the schedule too much. It doesn't mean it still had to be on TV. Their game against Everton was a TV pick on League Cup final weekend, that was moved and then not broadcast. Which was also an absolutely ****ish move.

Also worth pointing out that if it hadn’t had an open ended opening date due the the cock up ( which is ultimately the clubs responsibility) then it would have certainly been live.

I mean they’ve been selecting virtually all of our home games I’m sure with this in mind.

No, it wasn't. We were literally not allowed to show it in Norway because it wasn't broadcast in the UK, and decided it wasn't worth kicking up a fuss about.

Sky have pretty much selected every home game for the last few months to try to cover any eventual opening date but the Palace one seems to have slipped thorough and typically it’s the one we end up choosing as the opening date.

Sods law!!

But for the neautral city game will have more viewers

Look. I understand your point of view and, to an extent, the aggressive manner in which you're trying to get it across.

However. Whether title challenges are an annual event or not, they create global interest.

Whether new stadiums opening are an historic events or not, they pretty much only create interest from supporters of the club who play within that stadium.

So, are Sky clueless fucks? Or are they simply doing the sensible thing & showing the content that they believe the majority would want to see?

And another question. Say our game was scheduled to be on Sky, and you were looking forward to watching it, but those useless fucks at Sky decided to cancel their scheduled showing of the game you were waiting for, because Brighton (for example) were opening a new stadium because it's an historic event in the clubs history.

Would those people at Sky still be useless fucks?
