Can't see how we could move it, if we could we'd have done it that way from the beginning, unless of course we knock down the north stand and play in 3/4 of the existing ground for a year.

Would never happen. Even more so because we'd be left with closer to half of the existing stadium than three quarters (phase 3 in pic below). No way that Spurs could or would stand for a season with a capacity of less than 30K, let alone less than 20K. By virtue of lost revenue, it would add a further £20 million or so to the cost of building the stadium.

The only way that building this stadium in one fell swoop could be achieved is if Spurs were to play elsewhere for a season or two.

Didn't know where to put this but it doesn't really deserve a new thread. But we're getting new dugouts it seems this season.

Also, goal line tech was tested at the lane today for the first time

Further to my previous post, an even more compelling reason for this not being possible is that the new stadium would take out half the old pitch!

Playing in 3/4 of the stadium was always the phasing plan. This from 4 odd years ago.

Yes, I know, fella. Look a few posts up the board. I already posted this image!

This discussion has only come about because of recent itk (supposedly) that things had changed and that Spurs would now only move into the new stadium when it is completed (rather than only being 2/3 completed).

You should see the street next to the old Canon site after dark. Fucking littered with prostitutes! The area is getting worse, so it's of vital importance that Tottenham press ahead! :D

Technically speaking, that's probably Edmonton. Cheers for the heads-up, though!

Tottenham Hotspur's Daniel Levy sacks commercial chief?

Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly sacked a member of his commercial department.
The businessman is said to have dismissed the head of global partnerships Tracey Keenan just over a year since he gave her the job at White Hart Lane.
Keenan was sacked for failing to meet Levy's targets in terms of sponsorship deals, according to the Daily Mail.
Meanwhile, Levy has the task of dealing with the ongoing transfer saga involving Gareth Bale, who is reported to be the subject of an £85m bid from Real Madrid.

Sir Keith Mills in the Standard..

http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/foo...we-cant-force-him-to-play-for-us-8747976.html

The new stadium can only go ahead when £350m funding is secured. To do that, the club need to sell the naming rights. “We don’t have that in place and that’s an integral part of the financing,” says Mills. “Once we get that, it’ll open up the rest of the funding.”
With Middle East organisations keen to attach their names to British sport, Levy has travelled to the region but all Mills is willing to says is: “There’s been some interest.”

Huh? For what? I'm pretty sure Spurs are going to be around for quite a while yet...

To keep to the timetable.

Also how long until planning permission runs out if we haven't started building? Or does the northern development count.

Selling Bale would surely scupper chances of a decent deal for naming rights for a while. Although, this whole saga might be attracting interest from an international market.

Surely HP would be interested, they seem to like us.

Then we'll amend or move the timetable. Construction projects get delayed, they don't get cancelled just because a stage takes longer than anticipated.

We'll be fine. Levy just wants super-mega-money for the naming rights and will either have to find someone willing to pay it or concede that we'll have to accept less and generate the money another way (more commercial deals, longer-term contracts etc).

We'll be fine and the stadium will get built. We've been patient this long we may as well continue to be.

It varies but, after gaining planning consent, you normally have 4 or 5 years to begin construction. Note.....that's only to begin construction. Not complete it. So Spurs could just dig holes for a few pilings, leave it at that for the time being and still not have to apply anew for planning permission.

However, the recent news (unconfirmed by Spurs but confirmed by David Keirle of KSS) that Populous has usurped KSS as architect, coupled with the news (also confirmed by David Keirle) that Spurs are looking for a capacity increase to 62K (or more?) means that it's almost certain that the club will have to seek new planning consent anyway.

And there's no danger that they won't get it. So it shouldn't be a big deal.

If it is an internal change to the design would it require new planning permission?

Yes.

Not least because it will be a space used by 60,000 or so paying customers every other week.

So, even if for no other reason, any change will require new planning consent for 'elf and safety reasons.
