Hey guys, I live in Brisbane, Australia and have been a fan of spurs for about 15 years and Id thought I would share our city's sports stadium with you. It's called Suncorp Stadium holds 53k and is widely regarded as the best Football ground in terms of atmosphere everyone that plays and watches there talks about how close the fans are to the action and how good the viewing is from all seats and directions.

The posted bowl shape stadium does look nice and with 60 thousand screaming spurs fans I'm sure the players will notice but a square design/ syle would be better. Anyways check out some pictures of suncorp and see what you think, it was built about 3-5 years ago or something.

I could live with that—and we wouldn't need all that space behind the goals.

It must have a proper roof imo, to generate atmosphere.

The problem with a lot of bowls isn't the fact that they are bowls it's because there is no proper roof.

The allianz is the best example of an almost-bowl but with tall stands and a real roof. I'm not fussed about it looking like a big bubble on the outside, I'd prefer something classy, but inside, you can't beat it

That would be important

would it be hard to increase it?

That would be important.

Manure's is 75000.....our ground record is 75000.

A stadium is built with say 80 years or more in mind.

40 or so years ago we were bigger than Manure and the Filth up Seven Sisters ......swingers went to the Filth cos they could not get season tickets at Spurs (oversubscribed even back then).

We will be tops again.

Also, gotta be careful with the roof..........can ruin the pitch if that area is without sufficient sunlight.

We didn't get full capacity or anything like in many games in 60-61. Talk of 70,000+ is sheer fantasy.

OT and the surrounding streets were flattened by the Luftwaffe, which is why they had stacks of room for expansion.

As has been mentioned they often use artificial light these days. A bigger problem is the lack of proper ventilation in bowls with roofs.

Surprisingly the roof usually does more damage to atmosphere in a bowl style stadium. Over in the States the best atmosphere tends to be in stadiums without a roof.

He is right. Death Valley at Louisiana State University caused a minor earthquake without a roof during a game. The domes aren't nearly as intimidating.

Tis unfortunate, I despise LSU's team and their fans. On the plus side they beat Auburn in that game. I despise them more. Imagine Auburn as Arsenal and LSU as West Ham or Chelsea. That would be my opinion of them since I was 1 or 2 years old.

Its a shame about the news that it may not be used in the 2018 World Cup if we get it in England. I dont know the exact terms, but i read that, by Stamford Bridge being used, the new Spurs ground cant be used because we're in London, and the grounds have to be spread out across the country. Surely the new WHL will be a better venue than Stamford Bridge? Knowing Spurs, it will be one of the classiest Stadium, inside and out. Cant wait to see it.

Tell me about it SS57, got a feeling season tickets will be even more expensive than they currently are, gonna have to sell a kidney or something.

Mil1lion, so far the WC2018 stuff is only speculative - let's not forget that a) England hasn't even been awarded it yet and b) we haven't even published plans for the stadium yet.

To be honest 60,000 people trying to get to the Spurs ground for a world cup game presumably all, or at least most, of whom had never been before would be a nightmare.
We know where to park, what station is best, when to leave in order to get there and which way to walk from any tube stations but they won't, Imagine you're on your first visit to London getting off at Tottenham Hale where do you go? Half of them would end up in Walthamstow! and the rest at Seven Sisters where at least they could get back on the tube to the Hale again.

To be fair, if they used the Emirates as a World Cup stadium they'd experience similar transport issues.

With us, if they were sensible they would lay on extra trains to both WHL and Northumberland Park and have a shed load of helpers and signs to direct people.

Surely the transport will be better in 10 years time. Or am i over optimistic.
