They’ve spoken of a double header for NFL. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a PL Sunday game followed by the NFL.

Id definitely go to that. When do we think the first one of those would be. October I'm guessing as they will want it close to the stadium opening to really test things out.

Plus all the internal fit out seems to have been kept pretty quiet. We've no idea how far they've got with that. Probably why they've put all the glass up too.

As soon as a room is weather tight it would make sense to crack on with the internals asap. Realistically speaking they'd probably leave it until there is a series of enclosed rooms in a sequence to make it more efficient. I seem to recall seeing a post a couple of weeks ago saying the a lot of the internals are well advanced, more so than we would have thought.

I would be amazed if they have not employed temporary waterproofing techniques at various levels.

Whomever we play at home first in the new stadium, I hope it's a team we'd usually beat (Stoke will do) Press and Sky would have a field day if we got thrashed first game in new home.

Well, if they were struggling with the completion date I would agree. It would appear though that the internals are going well and are not in danger of falling behind. They may have used temp waterproofing, but if it's not necessary, I wouldn't see the point.

It is a technique used in mos forms of construction to enable the M&E and finishing trades to progress before the building is fully water tight. I would be amazed if this procedure was not already incorporated into the original Construction Programme with the options to temporary waterproof other floor levels if necessary. The use of dehumidifiers and hot air blowers would also be utilised to ensure the structure of the building is dry before laying screeds and floor finishes.

Having no real knowledge of the building industry, but a fair amount of practical experience of projects, I bow to your greater knowledge of buildings. I suppose it's a question of the 'what ifs' in the planning stage and you work on the greatest risk. When the project itself gets underway it's then a matter of 'do we need to do that and how much time can we save', and therefore 'how much extra bonus'. Planning versus the real world I guess.

If you look at some of the pictures of the stadium from a month or so ago on the top level all the exit holes appear to be covered with what look like a small tent, I believe that to have been a waterproofing measure.

Just imagine the backhanders that will have been handed out over all this.

Not sure about that. I do know Lendlease have been the preferred partner for all the development we are doing in Tottenham though. They met us in Sydney when we did that end of season tour back in 2016 for discussions.

I am just an amateur onlooker, but internal fit out wont be a problem. If needs be they'll just have certain areas unfinished or even not open for the big kick off.

It will surely be a) the roof or particularly b) constructing the sliding pitch, and whether they encounter any significant problems at these two stages, that determines whether it gets finished on time. Until we reach these stages no one can know.....

What’s the betting the “random fixture computer” brings out a City or Chelsea...

The horror. If it was 1-1 with a minute to go and Wilshere was clean through I would personally run on to the pitch and take him out, getting myself banned from all football stadia for life but preventing that horrible record going down in history.

Game wise nothing could happen if that were to happen, it's not like they could get a penalty from it so it's definitely worth it.
