I'm still not a fan of the screens in the South stand being nearly twice the size of those in the North. Maybe it's some latent OCD on my part, but in the interests of symmetry it would look much better imo if they were all the same size. Also, I know this has probably been answered before, but surely if the South stand ones were a bit smaller we could have got some more seats in without compromising site lines?

This was my thinking too, if the stand didn't drop so far in order to fit the screens in then surely more seats could have been put in.

Was there a reason why this has happened and why they're putting in bigger screens in the south stand than the north?

They couldn’t fit more seats because the rake would’ve been further back in the corners meaning you’d get a blocked view.

The south stand is one tier so has go back a lot further than the north stand. Meaning that the corners gaps between stand and roof are bigger to keep shape and viewing distances to the pitch.
The footprint of the south stand is almost double that of the north.

Ooh... first pictures of the metal cladding.

Something's been bothering me for ages about this.... Won't the people inside the stadium looking out onto the backside of this cladding just be greeted by a bunch of spider webs and stray crisp packets?

Looks like a bugger to clean, so I presume it won't be....

It’s probably been mentioned before but with the open space above the stands and below the roof, are we missing a bit of a trick not doing what Krasnodar did with their new stadium video wall?

Personally I think it looks incredible:

They probably need the gimmicky video wall to divert attention away from the half empty attendance.

I think something like that would be pretty cool - 62k people there, playing Arsenal/Madrid whatever under the lights, sound system pumping as the players come out, roar of the crowd with a huge Come On You Spurs flashing round the bowl...

Think you could do some very cool things with a feature like that, as well as potentially use it for the NFL games and concerts etc.

So they’ve taken the lift down from by the south/west corner this week.

With rumours the roof lift has started when do you think we’ll actually notice?

There's already been clear movement on some of the cables on the North Stand, but the key moment will be when the roof struts are physically lifted off of their temporary scaffold podiums. When that will occur is anybodies guess.

Thats what I hate about the NWHL, the ungainly and ugly surroundings with the stadium now sitting on the high street, compounded by the fact that they will be putting up hotels and housing towers in the only decent space. Indicative of London I know, but the whole appearance etc of this magnificent stadium deserves better.

I'm glad the club finally read my emails and have started installing the log flume.
Should make getting out of the ground a lot quicker and infinitely more fun.
No much fun going home wet in February though.
Maybe a Ghost Ride featuring videos of the dark days and a mannequin of Christian Gross and AVB jumping out at you would be a better idea lol.
Edit. Prob get real AVB. He's got fk all else to do these days.
