I met someone yesterday at a birthday party who isn’t employed by the club but is close to DL. I’m not going to explain how he is close but I’m happy to tell the mods who he is and they will understand how he knows what he does. I asked about the new stadium and he told me it would be fantastic but late. Nothing earth shattering but not in line with the above.
I mean there is only week difference between the game after the international break, and the 3 home games being played away. Seems roughly in the same ball park to me. Unless there is something else in it.

Fair enough I hadn’t looked at the fixture list, was just told likely to be more than the first 3 home games.

Even if the stadium was ready for mid September I’d imagine they’d still be unfinished parts. The notion the stadium with 1/3 roof on. 25% of south facade complete. 20% of veil complete would be 100% complete in 10 weeks seems highly optimistic. But very happy to be proved wrong.

There will be loads of snagging works. Look at the training ground they are still working on bits of it.

I'm still vague on what they mean by complete, does that mean everything done and dusted or complete enough to hold a football match, a pitch, a roof, floodlights and enough seats and turnstyles, what else do you need?
If there is likely to be a delay at the south stand for example, would it not be possible to play with a reduced gate and any Park Lane ST holders could be seated elsewhere until the that end was ready. As an idea it seems far far prefereable to schlepping over to Wembley again and having to ask Richard bastard Scudamore for anything.

Work will be going on behind the scene for months after the stadium is open. If it opens in September it will be the essentials competed Only

Really can't see Levy not wanting a grand opening with an unfinished stadium.

plus it most probably needs to be complete in most things to pass safety.

Levy needs to listen to mick jagger

Thanks for that @worcestersauce , I always wondered what Richard Scudamore's middle name was. Now I know, cheers! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Just back from London Stadium watching Mick sing that. Mind you don’t think that place is still finished!

Same here. Doesn't look at all finished. There were sheets covering columns of seats in places

I kind of liked how you can just walk in and directly onto terrace with minimal fuss but I would hate to watch a match there

I was thinking all the way through whether we'd ever host the Stones at NWHL

looked at the live cams this evening - I dont see how that stadium is going to be ready to host a match in 3 1/2 months
I think in a Month time everyone will see the roof cassettes up and south stand glass in and will have a different view.

A bit of roofing and some windows, what's the problem, I can see the roof and I can see the external dressing but I can't see anything else so what is it that people can see that makes them think it won't be ready?

The roof panels seem to be a slow process, maybe people are judging it by that plus the external work to be completed from the east, south and west stand where there seems to be an awful lot still to do.. who knows what’s going on inside.. I guess we will have a clearer picture in a months time

No chance it's complete by August. Absolutely no idea why others would think that it would. Having looked at the recent pictures and seen it myself, I'm mystified as to why we would rush the project to meet an unreasonable deadline of the middle of August. Quality and safety then become an issue in such a huge project in that short window.

Just my opinion based on experience in the business.

I will say, it absolutely looks spectacular. The players must be as excited as the fans...have to be. Especially our own...Harry and Winksy

Won’t be ready for the start of the season and apparently struggling to meet the target of only playing the first 3 home games away. I think there is mileage in the notion we are speaking to the league to see if we can use Wembley again for some period (that is me reading between the lines of what I was told).
Of course we'll have had conversations. Can you imagine if we didn't have a contingency plan?
