There’s something that’s been bothering me about the roof. How come the main grey panels and the glass panels aren’t flush. There seems to be a step up to the glass panels. I thought they’d be next to each other.

I see what you mean. I know nothing about construction, but my first thought was drainage. Maybe it's designed so that there are no drips falling off the ends onto the crowd/players below? I'm quite sure i'm way off the mark!

Not really liking how the roof is coming together, I'm not quite sure how to put it in words... Look's a bit thin and unimpressive if that's basically how it will look with glass/cassette(?) (I know a very thin membrane then goes over the top, not aware of anything else substantial though). I was hoping for something more akin to the new Atletico stadium which I think looks really good.

Anyone know what is at the very top of the south stand roof ? Looks like a plinth for something? Not in the original images?

I was wondering the same thing. I can't see it in the mock up images either. I wonder if a new cockerel (or the old one) will go there? and its one of those tweaks that was mentioned in that post a couple pages back.

Edit: beaten above

I believe you can abseil down from there when you do the sky walk

I thought the abseiling platform had you abseiling down in front (glassy side) of the South stand, otherwise you'd have people milling on the pitch (when it's not parked/being played on) not sure the ground staff would be too chuffed with that.

The Skywalk bit has you walking up behind the cladding on the East Stand (I think) across the outer perimeter of the roof and down behind the cladding on the West stand. Unless I misread the plan (which is quite likely)

I'd think that there are additional layers of build-up to be applied to the solid panels, including the roofing membrane and anything that has to go below that, whereas the clear panels, by definition, have to have nothing on top of them, or they wouldn't be translucent.

EDIT: I see from the video that the eaves detail also projects above the opaque panels, which supports my suspicion.

I've just grabbed some shots of the details we did, there's quite a lot more work to go on! There is nothing sitting on top of the panels, how they're installed is how they'll be.
