I hope one of the test events is a Spurs Ladies game. Would be a fantastic experience for them.
Reminds me of the joke about how Kuwait had progressed after the Gulf War. A visitor to the country remarked how women walked behind the men the last time he was there 10 years before but since the war, they walked in front. Why was this, he asked a local?
‘Landmines’.

To bring this back on track I hope the new pitch doesn’t have land mines.

Don’t care what anyone says the seats behind those big screens are crappy as hell

Looking at it I’m actually surprised they didn’t go for the kind of wrap round infill option that your seeing now in some new grounds. Basically in the space that the wave effect creates. Honestly wouldn’t surprise me if that wasn’t changed within 5 years.

That’s the option I’m talking about. Would have looked so much slicker and cooler. And the space we have is perfect for it. Wonder if it was ever considered as an option and if not why ?

Why not? Material and installation cost as well as length of time to install it plus quality of picture I should think!

Is this just a guess ? Or you have some actual detail on that. I wouldn’t imagine the cost or time to install was that much greater. As for quality of picture I have no idea. But I’m sure technology will continue to improve. I still think it’s a feature that’s likely to be upgraded in next 5-10 yrs.

From an installation/cost point of view, 4 screens mounted in square sections to a rectangular steel frame vs multiple different shaped/sized panels to a backing structure of varying shape to the full circumference of the inner bowl (and yes it would need its own mounting substructure, added to that the additional wiring and control equipment required to run it. Its a bit of a no brainer really. ( for reference, I'm an estimator in the construction industry, so whilst I may not know the exact costs involved, I can apply what I know about cladding/glazing roofing and how difficult it is to do shapes/curves/bends etc vs a flat wall.)

As for quality, as I understand it the club has invested a LOT of money in these screens to ensure the quality is as good as it can be for the size of screen (aren't they the biggest screens in any stadium?), to achieve a like for like quality around a stadium given the costs involved would be incredibly cost prohibitive.

Think it looks cheap and terrible. The picture is bad so you wouldn't see the highlights properly.

Maybe in another 10 years when the technology has improved but not now.
