There is much more people working inside compared to outside

your meant to be on holiday prancing around in your new shorts, take a break and enjoy your holiday, that DL helped pay for(y)

It always makes me laugh how people who don’t work in Construction expect workers to work full pelt all day. It’s physical tough, how many of you guys work 12 hour shifts 7 days a week grafting non stop all day? People are not machines you know

:sneaky: now what was it you said about those shorts in another thread, and with this weather we have had those shorts definitely should of been smaller not bigger:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I think they're getting ready to put the skywalk steels they removed a while ago back in and will use the gaps for cherry picker access

Thanks too Artic Spurs on SSC for pointing this out

Thanks for the clarification - strange to install the glass panels if "somebody" knew that cherry picker access would be required to re-install the steel at a later point. Things move in mysterious ways....

Maybe to check the panels fit fine.

A bunch of people working on Camera 2 - but it looks like they have a problem :cautious:

The other night, there were a lot (10+) of workers and torches on the inside of the stadium at that specific spot - looked like they were focused on that beam - at the base. I have no idea what they were doing, but it caught me by surprise to see so many gathered in one place that late at night.

Could it be something as simple as to keep the rain out?

There is a good reason why, multiple times during this build, a new operation has started, a few bits have been done and then everything has stopped for weeks. The fans go crazy: why have they stopped? Is there something wrong?

It's happened with the roof panels, the artificial pitch, the glass cladding to the south atrium, the "veil", the seats, the curved eaves detail, the filler that closes the gaps in the eaves detail and probably a load of other examples I can't recall.

The stadium build is full of tricky operations that have not been tested elsewhere and that need workers to acquire new skills to do them. So at the earliest opportunity, they do a a few roof cassettes, or a bit of the "veil", or whatever, to make sure the sequence of operations works and is optimised and to ensure that they have people on site who can pass along the techniques.

Then they move back to the "critical path" work, until the operation they've been testing appears on the critical path. I know many of these apparently stop-start operations have been driving people mental. This is why they do it that way: to test out tricky operations in advance,so they can iron out problems and do the work smoothly when the right time comes

This was a nice video summarising the journey to the new stadium, for people who haven't been following the 1557 page thread in detail, like me.
