Also, and I say again only as an amateur onlooker, in my experience of being caught up with building disruption/delays it wont have been the club aware of this for ages and keeping everyone in the dark. My experiences are that the builders/Project management tell you things are on target (or even that things behind schedule can be caught up and achieved) right up to the very last second until everything changes and then the 'truth' comes out. The club will have been taking direction from them at all times.

I'd rather the stadium was finished and safe than rushed through and something awful happening. This stadium and club will be here for years a few more months will be worth the wait.

I'm not shocked at this news and was speaking to a Liverpool fan I work with and said weeks ago that the opening match wouldn't be against them.

It's embarrassing but not the end of the world.

Have I stumbled back into the ITK discussion thread? A lot bed wetting going on in here.

We always knew the schedule was tight so this isn't exactly a big shock. We'll be playing in the new stadium when it's ready and that will be this season.

Until then can we try to put some of the tantrums on the back burner?

Agree

This is a complex build and things go wrong. It happens.

Let’s support club on this one

In all honesty im happy its been delayed. Whilst it isnt complete I dont think it would have felt like home but rather a building site. What would piss me the fuck off is if they delay it further.

What does annoy me is that theyre so quick to take our money but never quick to give it back.

I also am a bit concerned that all this is costing money which basically makes our transfer coffers even smaller if not non existent.

Your assuming it will be fully complete for our first game there

What with the heavily away weighted fixture list, what is it 8 out of first 11 games away?..,then it suspiciously looks like the club were probably aware of this. Lot earlier than they let on. Pretty shoddy treatment of the fans...

People have paid thousands, have had 40% increases in the price of their season ticket and now 3/19 games are at a neutral ground with a further game in the balance. It also looks like we won't have Champions League football in our own stadium for the third year running.

Fans are perfectly entitled to be pissed off when the club have been quick enough to take our money off us, delayed refunding 'credit', delayed refunding new season ticket holders their membership fees and fans having to rely red top newspapers to hear the news. Everyone has been more than patient with this whole process and the whole communication from the club has been disgusting imo.

Agree - I’ve been on a build project and this exactly happens

Will it be ready for the NFL game

Edit, seen already moved to Wembley, let's hope we don't piss off the NFL too much

What they should have done is burried this with some good news a week ago when we made our signings. Oh wait hold on...

Why don't we wait for the club to make an announcement before we descend into murdering each other.

This news has not made it away from The Sun or Talkshyte.

Edit: Story hadn't got through to me when I checked.

They better offer a credit back on our season ticket for every game played at Wembley just like they did for the Fulham game.

Not fully complete but, the veil being mostly completed, the panelling done etc the obvious stuff. I appreciate there is a difference between ready and complete.

Whilst I would rather rock up for the first time with it close to being finished as possible, it's massively disappointing.

The Club now has to seriously think about how they compensate season ticket holders. Refunds for the games won't cut it, minimum we should be getting is CL group games for free in my opinion. We've paid hundreds more than we did last season and we've got a minimum three games at Wembley.

What they should do and what they will do are very different things though!

Like many other people, I've paid a shit load of money, upfront, for a season ticket to a stadium I have no idea when will be ready...

I'm fucking fuming. Where has the communication been from the club? If they even dare try to "refund" me with 'credit' again...

With Liverpool gone and it pretty likely City too that's two of the best games that won't be included in price. You can't charge a price for a product and then remove two key ingredients but continue wanting the same price.
They have to refund it and let fans decide if still want to see those games at inferior venue, anything less is an absolute disgrace.

The City game is the same date as an NFL game at Wembley which is I think why they are saying TBC, not that they they we may be ready by then
