Yes, but he knew fuck-all. I don't even know who he is. He knew fuck-all.
Levy didn't know, because he couldn't know: he has only his professional consultants' word to rely upon. Mace didn't know, because it's industry culture to promote unrealistic optimism to the client! They're the ones who will take the hit for this.
It sounds from the nature of the announcements that it isn't general lateness - there's been a specific, critical-path issue that needs to be signed off before the stadium can be used and has either failed its tests or not been constructed correctly.
This is development. It's how it goes. You don't know until you get to this point.
Last year I renovated my house, took a month longer than intended and at the time decided against moving back in until everything had been completed - im a bit OCD like that. I wanted things to be as perfect as possible.
I suspect Levy is the same and doesnt want an incomplete stadium which the worlds cameras will be placed on, Whilst frusrating id rather move in when things are done up rather than resembling a building site regardless. If that means waiting a couple of months then so be it, the project is an accelerated one and was always ambitious but the fact that we are even at this stage is still a success.
Not a fecking chance of that, pal.Sorry but this isn't Levys house mate, it's Tottenham Hotspur's football ground and season he's dealing with. He needs to offer reduced prices for the games that need to be played at Wembley and to reimburse fans that have focused a lot of their money and attention on the date he said was guaranteed to be the opening game for the next stage of our era.
I'm a pro Levy person but he's really messed this summer up on so many levels. He simply needs to make amends now instead of asking Pochettino to tell the fans to please stay on side etc. Money where yur mouth is Levy, reimburse and reduce Wembley prices to show you aren't taking the supporters loyalty for granted. Time to give us a little back
This doesn't quite add up. You're saying the Club has known for a while about this yet went ahead and planned various matches at the new stadium, including an NFL match? And without any financial contingency plans? Not true I’m afraid
1. Mace won’t be paying - contract set up differently
2. Been known and reported for a long time
Levy insisted on the roof in its current form, meaning there was no other way of building. No other contractor would take it on - Mace said yes we will do everything we can but but under xxxxxx conditions
Even now the build will be ‘late’ it is a monumental project that should be deemed a success
My only moan - the way the club have handled the PR - not good to the fans.
PL clubs had to ratify it and vote as a majority
They'd be idiots not to approve it
What a disappointment. Not a great week for Mr Levy.
I think you will find it's the contractor who have let us down. Unfortunately Mace do not have a good track record. If Danny Boy has done his job properly the damages will be significant i.e. £3m per game probably.
Thought has just occurred to me, haven't they installed a microbrewery in the new ground? And it won't be able to serve beer on the planned opening date? You can see where I'm going with this can't you?
Eh?I believe it was dismissed out of hand the last time we tried it. It didn't go to any kind of vote.
Sorry but can people actually check the twitter accounts stuff comes from before they post here.
This eja character has 600 followers no blue tick and all his tweets are basically anti ENIC. Unless someone is a well known source please don’t post unsubstantiated rumours here.
The club did. They justified their HORRENDOUS price increases with "the amazing facilities at the New Stadium".That's if you class Wembley as a lesser product...

Eh?
We'd already agreed to playing at Wembley for the Fulham game and the rest at our new stadium?
