Yeah that makes sense, no point in a boycott if you've already brought the ticket. But for the other games? The view is better on the telly, the atmosphere is better at the pub, and I could go on a BIG sesh with the amount they'd charge me for a ticket. Fuck it. What's the point?

Oye doubt I will go to the others.

Or everything was fine and they were still on schedule until something critical happened today.
Bullshit. Nothing critical happened today that meant it went from ready for us to play a game there in two weeks time to no chance until at least the end of October. If you actually believe that I've got a lanky Spanish shit who can't run to flog you.

The club are all take and no give with the fans at the moment.

Levy having a shocker lately.

Whoever they’re employing to do PR needs to be sacked off.

To say I'm pissed off about this an understatement. I hated going to Wembley last season and now have to do it at least 3 more times this season

While i fully understand that projects the size of the new stadium are prone to delays, this last week has left me feeling disillusioned with the club.

I usually read every page on this, but just like the transfer window, every time I was busy or taking a power nap I miss everything.

how people are blaming the club for this is unbelievable, blame Mace. they are the ones that haven't done the work correctly not Levy. if there has been major issues and worry about the stadium then the only thing Levy should of done is try and find someone else to try and buy the players, but the teams they played for still might of not sold to us.

if the club had known back in April/May that there would be safety issues then they could of set the prices for the New Stadium accordingly, but they didn't. if the safety issues hadn't happened and they had been 3 weeks a head of schedule then we would of played Fulham. shit happens but on the stadium everyone needs to blame Mace not the club.

Don't refuse to go

You can't withdraw the funds, use it for matches or most likely they'll keep your money.
Nope, already said for the Fulham game that if you don't use it for matches you'll get it off your ST next year or a refund if you don't renew. I know they're in a mood for monumental fuck-ups right now but they have to at least match that for the other games they're moving.

Does’nt excuse the fact that it was The Sun that broke the news and not the club. Rightly or wrongly it now gives the impression that the club were forced into making a statement tonight.

I doubt it will be the Chelsea game. It's a big high profile game. Not sure the security people will want to jump right into a game like that. We play Southhampton on Weds 5th then Leicester on sat 8th Dec. It might be one of these. Though I think It might even be the Burnley game (15th) if the stadium is really ready, or even the Boxing day game (Everton).

Mace didn't put prices up 40%.

Mace didn't fail to find a naming rights partner.

Mace didn't sell season tickets to a ground before they were sure it'd be ready.

Mace didn't fail to tell anyone it wouldn't be ready until people had already made arrangements.

Mace didn't fail to sign a single player in the transfer window.

And in any case, Mace were hired by Daniel Levy. The buck stops with him. He has made a catalogue of errors this summer.

Totally agree. Club have run out of fan equity. They only have themselves to blame for that. I don't blame them for the stadium being delayed or even for this lateness of this message, but I do blame them for not having the equity with the fans to smooth this over. They've been horrible.

Real problem is not delay but the lack of communication. Having to wait till a news leak is out is extremely bad management. I am usually side with Levy, but this fuck up in communication is unforgivable. Only way to correct it is compensate affected fans by full refund and start giving proper stadium updates frequently

Levy's statement said the problem was today. Not sure how fast you want the communication. He would have to confirm we could use wembley etc... before issuing a statement.

Under promise, over deliver. I really like that the club is building a stadium that excels what others have, but Obviously the time frame has been too tight.

Doesn’t look good on Levy, and the communication is poor. Would it have been better to do the build over an extra season in hindsight? I’m sure there were financials and the like at play but seems a bit of a cock up all in all

I was all geared up to write a reprise of my rant from a year or two ago about how the construction industry has a culture of relentlessly misrepresenting progress to the client, right up to a few weeks from scheduled completion. And how this was because the on-site project manager is being bullied into guaranteeing targets that cannot be guaranteed, so they make bullshit promises and those promises go up the line of management, leading to a culture of bullshit promises.

Bu then I re-read the wording and tone of the club announcement. I don't think what's happening here is a general lateness of progress on site. The announcement and its suddenness, on the heels of taking up the Wembley option, reads as if something very specific has been encountered on site.

It reads as if a key bit of building or equipment that is on the critical path for obtaining the approvals and sign-offs has been found to be un-approvable and that it has to be rebuilt or reinstalled before the stadium can be licensed for use. That this has been discovered within the last day or two. And that summit meetings failed to find a way to rectify the problem in a time-scale that permits us to open on 15 Sept.

There's a difference between "this whole job is running late", which is what whingers have been saying here for months, and "oh fuck, the fire alarm [or whatever] failed the test and we have to reinstall everything". It reads like the latter to me. I'm guessing. But not from a position of ignorance.
I agree, all last season I had the same feelings however this build has taken longer than expected with relation to similar builds.

Whilst no build is the same, its often when new experimental features are implemented that often cause delays that are unforeseen, in our build we have the sky bar on the roof and the removable pitch that could potentially cause these delays.

Im shocked that the stadium isn't useable by the Liverpool match as there are numerous examples of shells of football stadiums that have been used whilst work is carried out during the week.

Its definitely unforeseen as we would have requested our first home match in the CL to be away like west ham did previously in the europa league
