Advised from when though? Prior to the arrangements made for Fulham to be at Wembley and announcing Liverpool as the opening game of the new stadium or after that?

Also, what exactly is the issue at hand? Is it really the critical safety systems or is that just an excuse? Because looking at photos of the stadium, as some have already mentioned, it's a building site. I've never looked at it and thought "ah yeah that should be done by August 27th".
March!

I don’t think anyone is surprised there are issues with such a complex build, even expected.

And I think we’d all prefer to turn to up to an almost finished stadium for the first time, not a patched up “ready” state where the exterior isn’t even finished.

The problem I have is Levy didn’t even apologise to the fans for the delay and that speaks volumes! Instead he asked us for patience and support. Maybe he’d get more of both if he made us feel like we were anything more than a pound sign, rather than banging on about the NFL which none of us give a flying fuck about at the moment.

Did anyone see the Twitter DM apparently from Donna Cullen to a fan that has booked to come over from America with his wife for the Liverpool game?

And do you think rectifying this item would take an additional 6 weeks?? Of course not - it is being used as the reasoning!

Well the ”new” Berlin Airport did supposedly have the same problem. It is not yet opend and that have taken years. ?

Saw that and it was the most flippant F*CK you message I've ever read!! Basically saying the game was still on and what was he moaning about!!

Presumably once the critical safety issue is rectified the club can give a definite timescale, unfortunately in other words that means that the club can't give a definite timescale until that critical safety issue is rectified.
It would seem that it isn't that the timescale was too short it is that something hasn't been done properly so we have everything we need to stage a football match, or will have with the turf laid, it's just that we don't have a certificate for something that has never been used at the old ground in all the years I have been supporting the club.
I am not happy about more games at Wembley but what worries me more is that any more and the clubs, Premier league and anyone else with a vested interest will insist that we revert to Wembley for all of our games, I can only hope that the club at least has a handle on rectifying the problem and feel confident this delay is sufficient.
By the way, when I say I am not happy I mean that I am incandescant with rage, I am absolutely fucking steaming:banghead:

The club are bang out of order here.
Taking the fans money for season tickets for the new stadium when there was always a slim chance we would be playing many games at WHL this season

the trouble is it would be harder to sort out season tickets 7 games into the season, when they didn't know for certain there would be a delay. if the cause is correct they wouldn't of known that back in April when they started to get tickets sorted.

with all that's happening I know I better find a way of working more hours even though I'm struggling at the moment to do anything:( because I might even get offered a season ticket next season, though the 151 in front of me on the disabled list might not moan as much:whistle:

I suppose one positive about this, is that the first game could possibly be a night game under the floodlights.

when I read through the the terms & conditions for my season ticket, before I bought it, the part about not guaranteeing matches being staged at the same time and place leapt out at me.

People can moan about it “ blah blah blah I paid my season ticket money” but it’s in the documentation we got that it might have been a possibility games wouldn’t be staged there. It’s not the club’s fault if people didn’t read them.

It’s annoying we weren’t told, but the club are useless updating us on injuries, let alone problems with the new stadium, which if made public could have wider ramifications. It’s exactly how I expected them to behave should something like this happen.

She's right, the match is still happening that day…just not at the new stadium.
She chose her words carefully.

People are actually buying the safety system issue and this was all a sudden thing? Seriously? That’s clearly a bullshit excuse for the club failing to be up front with the fans. We’ve gotten smoke out from people who have worked on the site for months that the stadium will not be ready in the clubs time frame and it was looking like November. Not only that, but all anyone has to do is take a look at the pictures that are continuously popping up. There’s a safety issue. But its got nothing to do with a system and more to do with the fact its clearly a building site and the club doesnt want anyone falling through the large glassless area of the facade or touching anything else on match days.
