I think the underground car park is just for VIP's/staff/players etc (Maybe wrong)

From what i know of the security needed to pass through to enter, i doubt it will be open to the unwashed masses...

The surface car park maybe open sooner.
Could always use Sainsbury’s...

As others have said the issue here isn't really about the delay, we all knew that was a real possibility. I don't believe for a second the club has been sitting on this. It all seems to have come to the fore yesterday, and obviously we'll have had to communicate with The FA, PL, NFL, Wembley, Liverpool and Cardiff before being able to release anything to fans. It wasn't particularly helpful that The FA leaked it immediately to Ashton, but I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

The issue is the tone of the communication. I'm amazed at the lack of ability to read the room as it were. I could understand the ticket price rise (though believed we could have reduced them), and am on board with the explanation of the transfer window. But surely they have to be aware that a large section of the fan base is really not happy about either thing. To not apologise to fans is poor. I get that maybe it was too soon to announce refunds or pricing changes or whatever given that they must have moved quickly, but they could have at least apologised and said that they will be doing something to reimburse fans and will be in contact in due course. There just seems to be no effort to even understand the fans.

It's clear from the ticket sales, and the painful advertising for Fulham tickets that almost no-one wants to go back to Wembley. My biggest concern now, is that the treatment of the fans is going to create either a very small attendance at these opening games at Wembley, or a pretty toxic one, which could have negative effects on the performance of the team. Worst case scenario we could be out of a top four race before we even move into the new ground, and languishing in our CL group.

I just can't understand how they can get the communication so bad.

She's right, the match is still happening that day…just not at the new stadium.
She chose her words carefully.

It's not what she says mate, it's what she doesn't say, same as the statement.

All it would have taken is a short word from Levy in the statement saying something like:

"I apologise to all of our supporters for the delay, we appreciate how excited you all are to see our new home and everyone at the Club was looking forward to the two test events as well as the opening game as much as you were. Unfortunately with a build this size there is always a risk of delays and that is unfortunately the case here. Your matchday safety is of paramount importance to us and we cannot cut any corners.

Rest assured there are urgent discussions on-going in regards to how best we can appease our loyal season ticket holders and we will advise in due course. Whilst we would rather be playing at our new home, please get behind Mauricio and the team at Wembley and we will continue to keep you updated with progress on the stadium".

If I can come up with that in a few minutes, surely someone on these ridiculous salaries at the Club could have. Donna Cullen should know better too and it only would have taken a little empathy on her part to make that fan feel better.

We have had the discussion about finished and ready to use and completely finished so it looks a thing of beauty so many times. Probably everyone is a bit right, but I truly believe we will move in before absolutely everything is perfect otherwise we would probably just have had two straight seasons at Wembley.

Yeah the fact that I've seen him on twitter saying one thing and the email another makes me question the integrity of the complaint. As much as we're annoyed with the situation it's good to deal in only facts rather than hyperbole.
Completely, added to the point that he's not shown any of his emails. He's told twitter what he said, but not shown us. We have no idea how those previous 10 messages went.

They need to significantly reduce the prices for the games at Wembley otherwise that stadium will be empty.

The silence from the club is astonishing, that statement yesterday was absolute crap.
I want to know what the plan is for season ticket holders. I suffered one year of hard trips to Wembley but bought this year on the basis of not having to do so. I don't want to be told by the club that either I schlep over to Wembley or lose my money. Wembley isn't what I paid for. Levy needs to provide answers to a lot of question, and quick.

I have been a Levy defender over the years, but the transfer window and now this are testing my patience. Most of us fans are "little people" who don't have millions of pounds in the bank and for whom a season ticket and day match costs (trains, food, petrol etc) cost a lot. It is not right that we be dicked around and kept in the dark. I get that some want to put a posotive spin on this, but in my opinion those who are angry are fully entitled to be, especially if they're season ticket holders.

I don't know if it has been mentioned yet in the thread but us ST holders got an email last week inviting us to upgrade to Gold status and alluded to games that will now be at Wembley being played at home. Now either Levy doesn't have a clue what is happening from day to day or he authorised that email to be sent out knowing the stadium was not going to be ready for Liverpool. Either way it is a disgrace. Alright taking our ST money and still trying to squeeze out cash while not investing in the squad, but not delivering what we've paid for.

The progress the build has made from the end of the final season at The Lane until now is truly remarkable, however a delay was always possible/likely. I work in Tottenham and pop up to the High Road fairly regularly to see how things are getting on. I've been away for a few weeks and was really surprised to see very little progress upon returning to work.

I'm not sure if the excuse being used is the full story, however my biggest issue is the way fans are being fobbed off. Yes, we can all be understanding of delays but we deserve better levels of communication. The Sun knew before we did and as a Season Ticket Holder I would've expected to receive the announcement in an email before I received it in a Whatsapp message from a Liverpool fan.

I complained about the 1/19th Credit refund for the Fulham game on here and got shot down pretty quickly. I sure as hell hope that Spurs don't patronise those of us that have paid money up front with a refund of credits again, after all it's my money and a credit just keeps it in the clubs coffers.

Cheers for that. They should have held off from the panic statement, waiting a few hours wouldn't have made any difference. An apology with the above information would have prevented all of this bad feeling and if they are actually giving us a refund for the Wembley games and free tickets that's a really good gesture. The problem is it will now feel like a reaction to all of the negativity rather than the Club doing the right thing off the bat.

Club messing with fans, fans angry at club. And I am thinking how is this going to affect the team. They were probably as exited about going to new stadium as we were. They will probably not enjoy going to half empty Wembley, other half filled with angry Spurs fans and that can affect the score. We all know how tight top6 is. Every point is priceless. Club is really managing it bad. As someone said, we should be treated like fans, part of the club, not customers.

Remember Poch is a god and he will make it the players responsibility to put a performance in to remind the fans why they love the club, not the fucking prat upstairs with 8 wheels of cheese

Refunds and complimentary tickets for Wembley does seem the correct move. Need as many fans at those Wembley games as possible.

The media will be all over the poor turnout at Wembley this weekend. Don't need that rubbing off on the pitch.

Of course that's true. But if either there is a low turn out at Wembley, or a negative atmosphere, or both then that can have an effect no matter how professional they are.

I'm sure a lot of people imagine we are more angry than Daniel Levy but I would be very surprised if that was true.:)

True, but I'm not defending her, Nick.
You have just worded it differently as she has done. She hasn't lied, she just hasn't told the truth.

Edit: Her comments won't be forgotten, bearing in mind that she was fully aware of the situation at the stadium.

Fuck. You've just reminded me I now have to wait longer to experience Levy's dairy treats.

I demand we get a crate of Camembert each in compensation (although knowing Levy it'll probably be Dairylea).

I doubt us mere mortals will get to taste that sweet cheddar. I'm surprised he hasn't put a glass wall on the cheese room so the rest of us can watch the important people nibble on those delights.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, the problem with this could be a large proportion of the fans receiving complimentary tickets not turning up for the match. The way lots of season ticket holders missed matches last season.

I do think tickets prices need to be cut though.

I think it just one of those situations that you can't win either way especially if that information is correct. Hopefully a follow up statement will come soon.

Doubt there will be a toxic atmosphere at Wembley will do the team no good at all.
Wembley holds no fears for us any more. R Madrid, Dortmund, Liverpool , Man Utd and The Woolwich all beaten comprehensively .
Yes communication has been poor but the schedule was always challenging, many building projects have gone over time and budget so nothing new.
Now is the time to show more support for the club and turn up in numbers at Wembley, don't do a Woolwich and turn the atmosphere septic like The Emptirates last season.

The crowd for Fulham was always going to be below average it's August , fans on holiday , should be round about 50000.

If I receive a free ticket and my actual hard cash back I'd be more inclined to go
