They had no option but to refund but I'm happy enough with that. Hopefully they can give a 100% definitive date when we're going to move in soon so they can start building up excitement again. I'm a bit flat about it right now and I'm sure I'm not alone, it should be a joyous moment moving into this amazing new stadium. A few nice wins in the league though and I'm sure this'll be forgotten and the hype for me will start again.

But that’s sort of my point, are we getting all our money back? We’re getting some of it yep. If what I’m saying is correct (and I still don’t know if it is or not) then surely fans don’t deserve to lose money. The club or construction firm or whoever’s fault it is for the delay maybe do but fans don’t. Crediting the ticket is the absolute minimum they should do and completely expected. Anything less would cause a bit of an uproar with fans and media alike, whether we like it or not.

It personally doesn’t affect me too much apart from the fact Wembley is a 4/4.5 hour round journey which is a pain in the arse and I hate the place. I’m just trying to work out if we’ve lost some money which, in my opinion of course, would be completely unjust.

You'll lose a bit if either you borrowed the money, or had it previously invested and will lose the returns on it. But I suggest the amounts involved are tiny, and not something I'd ever expect to be indemnified against.

I've read elsewhere that were looking to arrange to play both the City (10/28) and Chelsea (11/24) away as opposed to at home and that the first game at the new stadium will be 12/5 against Soton.

I just blew £200 on new headphones for the gym to I could do with clawing some cash back :ROFLMAO:
So that’s why I’m not losing the weight...

So instead it comes out of our pockets? My hands feed two kids first and foremost, not some overpaid footballers.
The players will get paid regardless whether you renew your season ticket or demand compensation or not.

Undoubtedly this set back will cost the club millions even before fans demanding compensation. Where do you think the money will come from to fill that hole?

I’m not sure how it works but for the Fulham game, they refunded 1/19th of the cost of the season ticket but charged the same amount for the ticket for Wembley. Yet the current season ticket was £400 more expensive than the Wembley one. Unless I’m missing something doesn’t that mean we’re being charged the same amount per game despite paying more overall this season?

I’m very possibly wrong but that’s how I saw it.

Only using the Fulham game as an example a cat B I believe , a seat behind the goal centre lower tier at Wembley will cost £42 . Same sort of seat in safe standing in south stand NWHL has a season ticket price of £995 so an ST holder should be getting a 1/19th refund of £52.36. So for a cat B basically a tenner saving at Wembley but will differ for other areas, no prices available for Liverpool a cat A so no comparison yet.[/QUOTE]

PS. Season ticket price for 17/18 at Wembley lower centre behind goal was £725 so that worked out at £38 per match.

Mace? If it’s not my fault, and it’s not the club...

I wonder of on site workers are made to disclose what clubs they support?
This is an emotive project and some people are really fucking thick.

Would you put it past 1 of the 3,000 workers there to be an utter bellend that does things to deliberately hurt the schedule?

Don't you think earning a living is far more important to them? Why would they jeopardise that when most will have families to provide for?

Does anyone else think that the reason the club were so quiet about having to move the Liverpool game was because its part of the club trying the deceive the league as to when the stadium is going to be ready and not the fans. Maybe they were concerned that if they told the truth and said that we might not play in the new place until December that the league would have said , no you must play at Wembley again. Thats what I reckon may well of happened.

Wonder how much we will fine Mace, normally it's a daily rate and for something like this I'd assume it would be a pretty high figure.

A well known house developer fines (for a better use of the word) their contractors £500k a week.

Quite plausible.

Refunds are welcome, but the club needs to do a bit more here. Lots of people simply won't want to go back to Wembley, at least not at £40 min for a ticket. Fulham could have been passed as a one off, but if the ground is half-empty when we play Cardiff or even Liverpool then any future stadium sponsorship deals are going to be off the table immediately. They should be offering a free ticket to all season ticket holders and then leaving the additional capacity for those games open to club members at reasonable prices.

If the club weren't so greedy they could have told us all that we are building a magnificent stadium that will take 2 seasons to complete

They then could have made all tickets half price and sold the 2 seasons together. Pretty much guarantees a full Wembley for 2 seasons as well

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but now they have pissed us around once again and Wembley will be even more soulless than it normally is!

As already reported Mace stipulated a no-liability clause for delays given the ridiculously tight schedule. No sensible company would on a multi year, £400m+ build.

We, the fans, pushed hard for 1 season at Wembley instead of 2. We knew this was a possibility. Anyone that did, has no right to bitch that the project runs over a few weeks.

The club would have saved a fortune if they had just agreed 2 sessions at Wembley, but that's not we, the fans and THST, pushed for.

Ah so its the fans fault? Oh please.

Lets just forget that at the time wembley was first announced, there was a good possibility that Chelsea would be playing Wembley for a few years starting this season.

From 48K on SSC
This appears to be contradicted on the official site. Saying refund of 1/19 with "ticket details for Wembley to follow".

Either the club intend to charge for these games or they haven't decided to make the fest their free, public yet. Can't see why they would hold it back at this stage.
